I'm excited about this challenge, as I liked the one last year but I'm going to have to alter how I do it. Thanks to a tenant leaving one of our apartment a total disaster my husband and I have had to put a freeze on hobby spending while he fixes it (no new books for me or new boardgames for him). However since my TBR pile goes across the top of the piano and has a pile going up the side I have decided to see how much of the challenge I can do only reading from mine and my daughter's TBRs. Can it be done!? we shall see.
finally found one. I just picked up, They Called Us Enemy by George Takei, so that's what I am doing today lol.
I'm loving the challenge. I have a mix of my books and my daughter's, but since she's 6 I'm reading hers aloud so I feel like that still counts for books I'm reading lol.A book told an unconventional format: Station Eleven
An award winning book: Fifth Season
Story told in multiple perspectives: The Wartime Sisters
A story based in mythology: The Serpents Secret
Reread a favorite: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
A book with a lot of hype you haven't read: Outlander
A book you Haven't Heard of before: Wings Of Fire
Historical fiction on a time you know nothing about: The Lady of the Rivers
LGBTQIA protagonist: Annie on my mind
Reading crate book you haven't read yet: When Dimple Met Rishi
A New Release: Kingdom of Ash
A book written by someone famous for not writing: Magic Misfits (Neil Patrick Harris)
A fantasy book with a mythical creature: How to Train Your Dragon
The next book in a series you already started: Tower of Dawn
A book set in space: Dr Who The Secret In Vault 13
a book you based on it's cover (it was the title but thats on the cover so it counts right) Ban This Book
A book you think will be a new Favorite: Mariella of Green Gables
Non fiction about a skill you want to learn: Homebody
A book written the year you were born: The Color Purple
A book about an issue important to you: This Is How It Always Is
A book with a character with your first middle or last name: The Inquisitors Tale
A book with a similar theme to your favorite TV show: The White Queen
And I am currently reading the first book in The Wheel of Time series which kind of intimidates me because of how much hope my husband put on me liking it ( it's my first non YA fantasy, well second but I didn't like Fifth Season that much so he isn't counting that lol). And My daughter and I just finished Wings of Fire last night and she's pretty sure she wants to start the Giada De Laurentiis books so that might fit the country I want to visit, I forget what countries are in the series off the top of my head.

we got the dragon crate. My Daughter absolutely loves Duncan the Story Dragon, and still asks to read a few times a week.I think for this I'm going to get The Smell of Other People's Houses.

I do know Jean Grey. I think it might be impossible to grow up in the 80s and 90s with the name jean and not know lol. People have been "nicknaming" me jean grey for most of my life lol. Though I tend to be more of a DC girl I have always liked X-Men, it was the thing in the back of my mind, if I couldn't find a book I would pick a X-Men graphic novel. But thank you! :)

If anyone has any recommendations for a book with a Jean let me know. All I can think of is Jean and Johnny and I read that almost weekly for a year growing up I'm not really digging reading it again.
1982.The Color Purple topped the Goodreads list, which I have been wanting to read and figured well there's my reason to pick it up. But then there's this Annie On My Mind, which on looking at the description it says not only is widely banned in schools but has been publicly burned and that just screams to me that it needs to be read. Luckily they both fit into a couple categories so I guess I'll put in an order at my local bookstore for both.
