I am reading "Snow & Rose" right now which is a retelling of "Snow White and Rose Red." The illustrations are so gorgeous!
That would be horror for me because I am a chicken. I will try "Mexican Gothic." Hopefully it is not too scary...
I am going to read "1984" by George Orwell. I love dystopian novels and this seems to be a classic one to me.
I will be reading "Shark Lady: The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean's Most Fearless Scientist" by Jess Keating. It is a picture book but I am curious to find out about this lady!
I will be reading "The War I Finally Won" by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. I love the first book but I have not picked up the second one even though it is in my "waiting-to-be-read" pile.
I will be reading "Reading with Patrick: A Teacher, a Student, and a Life-Changing Friendship" by Michelle Kuo because I think reading/writing can help young people to understand/express themselves. I love reading and I believe reading can help children to see that the world is big enough for every one of them to be no matter how different they feel they are. I am also curious to see how Kuo sees complexities of the South as an Asian woman since I am also one.
Hi Emily and everyone! I am so excited to start new year and join this challenge to broaden my reading landscape. I think Hygge is the great theme for 2021 for now I am starting to learn how to relax in the situation that is out of my control. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone will be reading for the challenge. Have a great day!
