I read The Servant by Fatima Sharafeddine. Takes place in Lebanon and is a super quick read (~150 pages).
I just finished The World According to Fannie Davis by Bridgett M. Davis. A great book about an interesting woman (the author’s mother) and place (Detroit in the 1960s). I learned a lot.
I read My Sister, The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite. It takes place in Nigeria. I gave it 3 stars, so not terrible, but not the best. A quick read though.
I went easy on this one. I read Blood on the River by Elisa Carbone. It's middle grade about Jamestown, but I still learned so much.
I read Miss Timmins' School for Girls by Nayana Currimbhoy. It's a novel about a teacher at a girls' boarding school in India in the 1970s, some LGBT characters. Good book, but something teased in the prologue that was never actually addressed in the book, so be prepared for a little lack of resolution.
I read The Chain by Adrian McKinty. It's a thriller about a woman whose daughter is kidnapped as part of some sort of kidnapping game. Maybe not for everyone, but a quick, exciting read.
