More on surrealism .....Andre Breton pointed out that Avida Dollars, meaning avid for American money, is an anagram of Salvador Dali. Breton, and many others, thought that Dali was too fond of wealth and fame. This cannot be denied, but I don't think this detracts from his art. I consider his best works to be the greatest of the surrealist movement.
An Ode to SurrealismA melting watch,
A man hiding
Behind an apple,
And a train
Emerging from a fireplace.
And in the flesh,
Dali walking proudly,
With Gala on his arm
And his pet cheetah
On its lead.
The Oscars was more lively this time. Actually it looked more like a punch to me. Well done Will!https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainm...
For World Poetry DayI celebrate the timeless ode,
Composed by Greeks
And Romans
And the ancient Britons
Covered in their woad.
Thanks GB!The internet tells me that it is observed by all U.N. countries, but I need to see evidence of this.
Actually Patrick wasn't Irish. He was born in England, and was abducted from there by Irish pirates.
