The Partition Project by Saadia Faruqi
A slightly flawed MG book on a very important and oft ignored topic of history.

The Phantom Toolbooth is one of my all-time favourite books. so nice to see it mentioned here and that you enjoyed it too. :)
Language of Love - A Flirty, Festive Anthology by various authors.
A mixed bag for me, though this is mainly due to my romance reading preferences.

A Lady's Guide to Marvels and Misadventure by Angela Bell
An entertaining historical romance-adventure. Faith-oriented , especially in the final section, so except if you have a problem with that, I see now reason why you shouldn't read this amazing debut. :)

One More Mountain by Deborah Ellis
The fifth book of the acclaimed Breadwinner series, a set of MG books talking of a little girl in Afghanistan. an eye-opening story, but best read in series order.

My Father's House by Joseph O'Connor
Based on an inspiring true story, but the writing style just wasn't my cup of tea.

The Princess Protection Program by Alex London
An MG/YA book with a great idea but mixed execution.

She's a Killer by Kirsten McDougall
A wacky cli-fi satire set in dystopian NZ. Not for everyone, but if you like dark humour, you'll possibly enjoy this.

Only the Children by S.A. Dunphy
Didn't work as well as the first book for me, though the ratings suggest otherwise.

The Memory of Us: A brand-new love story for 2024. Filled with heart-wrenching romance, family love, and mystery by Dani Atkins
Haven't read any other book by this popular author, but I think I began with the wrong one.

Little Witness by S.A. Dunphy
An Irish police procedural initialising what promises to be an interesting series around children caught in the aftermath of adult crimes.

Family Family by Laurie Frankel
I've become a fan of this author now, for her topics and for her writing.

The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams
Great title, cover and premise. Shoddy execution. Outlier review.

The Arsenic Eater's Wife by Tonya Mitchell
A historical fiction based on an actual 1890s case where a woman was arrested for killing her husband. A compelling work, despite a slightly OTT finish.

Finally caught up with two (very different) classics and enjoyed both!1. Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
Can't believe I waited so long to read this!

2. The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe
Poetry isn't really my cup of tea, but this one worked excellently because I heard it.

Relit: 16 Latinx Remixes of Classic Stories, edited by Sandra Proudman
Enjoyed this anthology of retellings with a Latinx SFF twist. It's YA, but other than that, it's worth a read. ;)

The House On Sun Street by Mojgan Ghazirad
Quite an interesting OwnVoices Iranian historical fiction.; I liked much of it, except for the final quarter.

The Butterflies of Meadow Hill Manor by Stefanie Parks
A middle grade magical realism novel. As beautiful as the cover suggests. Amazing for a debut.
