Bummer about the record number of DNFs but good on you for not wasting time on books you're not interested in!
Yay, Monica! You did it! Congratulations on hitting your goal! It's awesome that last month was a really good reading month for you and you found some great books. Always feels great when that happens. I'm excited to see what number of books you end up, too!

I completely agree! Challenges definitely do help push one to explore new genres and authors. I remember a time when I basically read 4-5 authors. Silly me. Thank goodness they were prolific authors, but still... I obviously missed out on so much.

Congratulations on hitting your goal of 140, Lindy-Lane! Good luck on your non fiction goal! There's two months left until the end of the year. You've got this!

Glad you're reading better books to make up for the stinker! I am still enjoying my books. Been binging on some mangas, which are always fun to read.

Such a good problem to have! Too many good books!
We're a huge fan of the Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley. Listened to the books on many a road trip. I don't know why we've never read any of this other books. Might have to check out The Weirdies.
Congratulations on hitting your goal, D.L.! Way to go! Hope there were many new favorite authors and books! And you've got this! Two months is a good amount of time to find some 5 star reads!

The year is still young, Cole! You've got this!
I see you're getting in your horror reads for October. I should do a re-read of The Lottery, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Cask of Amontillado. Hmmm, and since I just read a retelling of The Fall of the House of Usher, I should read that as well...
My reading is indeed going well. I've hit my Goodreads challenge but still working on yearly challenges.
That's absolutely fantastic that you got so many great recommendations from friends, family, and librarians, Bev! I'm so glad your books led you on an adventure. I've been reading many wonderful books, too. Any books or authors you recommend?

Hahaha, I never think one can read too much fiction as that's most of what I read. But I understand what you mean. I hope you enjoy the rest of your year with wonderful non fiction books!
Woohoo! Congratulations on crushing your goal, Carolyn! You rock! I think you should definitely aim for a much bigger number of books next year!
Aved wrote: "Hey Jenn, thanks for the encouragement! I have really enjoyed almost all the books listed. I am glad to hear you enjoyed the same books as I did, it is always nice to fellow fan.I liked the Trial..."
Yeah, Trials of Apollo was a bit more mature. I just took it as it is appealing to the audience who first read Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
