the surface area of a cube is the area of the six squares that cover it. The area of one of them is a*a, or a² . Since these are all the same, you can multiply one of them by six, so the surface area of a cube is 6 times one of the sides squared.
S.A of the cube = 6*a² = 6a²
@Scarlet:180 = 180 – x + 180 – (x + 4) + 180 – (x + 8)
180 = 540 – 3x MINUS 12 <---here is where the error was made
180 = 540 - 3x -12
180 = 528 - 3x
-348 = -3x

Formula for the surface area of cylinder,
S.A = 2 π r² + 2 π r h
simplify,
S.A = 2 π r (r+h)
S.A = 2 π x 3 x (3+5)
S.A = 2 π x 3 x 8
S.A = 48 x π
since π = 3.14
S.A = 48 x 3.14 = 150.72 m²
substract the 2nd equation by the first one2x + 6y = 28
2x + 2y = 16
___________-
0 + 4y = 12
4y = 12 . . . (divide both sides by 4)
y = 3
so, plug in the y to 2nd equation (you can plug in to 1st equation too)
2x + 6y = 28
=> 2x + 6(3) = 28
=> 2x + 18 = 28
=> 2x = 10
=> x = 5
so, x is 5 and y is 3
errr... lemme try itMr. Kendall wants two tins of pineapple, so he can not get them in one, so P(X=1) = 0. (For that matter P(X=0) = 0, too.)
In order to get it in two, the first tin would have to be pineapple (2 out of 5 = 2/5), and the second tin would be pineapple as well, (1 out of 4 = 1/4), and the probability is 2/5 × 1/4 = 1/10.
In three means that either the first was pineapple and the second beans, or vice-versa, followed by a pineapple: [(2/5 × 3/4) + (3/5 ×2/4)] × 1/3 = (3/10 + 3/10) × 1/3 = 3/5 × 1/3 = 1/5
1. off course, it is a right triangle and a special triangle whose sides are related to 3, 4 and 5. the angle looking at the side 3 is 37°, the angle looking at the side 4 is 53° and the other is 90°.37°, 53°, 90°
or you can use Phytagoras theorm (hypotenuse theory)
a² + b² = c²
3² + 4² = 5²
2. Use the triangle property which states that the three interior angles of any triangle add to 180°.
m<3 = 180 - m<2 - m<4
m<3 = 180 - 70 - 42
m<3 = 68°
3. Use the same property
m<2 + m<3 + m<4 = 180°
10x + 5x + 40 + 3x - 4 = 180°
Collect like terms
18x + 36° = 180°
Subtract 36 from both sides
18x = 144°
Divide both sides by 18
x = 8°

hahaha. however in "physics section", there is still no question. i think everyone doesn't have problems in physics :D

err... my nickname has taken from one of the most famous formula in physics, Uncertainty principle
well, yeah, i am a math/physics enthusiast. now, i'm studying at college
Oh, you just call me as "Qui" (like other people in other groups) :D
