LCPL wrote: "This or That: A warm drink and a nice crisp fall walk or pumpkin carving and a warm apple crisp?"Warm drink and a fall walk. Pumpkin carving stresses me out.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Do you own multiple copies of a book?"The only one I have multiples of is The Lord of the Rings series. I got rid of all my other duplicates.
LCPL wrote: "Happy Wednesday! What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan on reading next?"No update.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is the perfect fall drink for you?"I don't really change up drinks for each season, but I do love Chai and that feels very Autumn to me.
LCPL wrote: "Happy Friday! Hope you had a great week! What does everyone plan on reading this weekend?"I haven't been in the reading mood, so I'm not sure what I'll read if I do pick anything up.
All My Days by Alexi Murdoch Any older song by Norah Jones
Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden
I don't know why these scream Autumn to me.
LCPL wrote: "Happy catch-up from Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. What do you currently have checked out from the library?"I don't think I have anything new checked out.
LCPL wrote: " Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Provide a Much-Needed Escape (bonus points if you tell us why!)"All the books I read are pretty serious, so most of the time the escape is with graphic novels / manga.
1. Garlic and the Witch / Vampire by Bree Paulsen
2. Sheets by Brenna Thummler
3. One Piece by Eiichiro Oda
4. Giant Days by John Allison
5. You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi (such an entertaining read)
6. The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang (Sounds crazy but it's such a favorite of mine. I need to read it for a third time to eventually finish the series, and I'm just as excited as I was the first time.)
LCPL wrote: "Happy Wednesday! What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan on reading next?"No update.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Are there any September releases you're excited for?"Sky Full of Elephants by Cebo Campbell
The Playground by Richard Powers
Not a Speck of Light by Laird Barron
LCPL wrote: "This or That Thursday: Cute mugs or fall candles?"Fall candles. I don't really collect or have a lot mugs. I just use whatever.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your favorite fall scent?"Warm vanilla scents for candles or perfume.
If I'm baking, it's the smell of cinnamon rolls or banana bread.
LCPL wrote: "Happy Wednesday! What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan on reading next?"I forgot to include one in last weeks update, but I did finish The Goonies: The Illustrated Storybook by Brooke Vitale. Since then I finished I Was a Teenage Slasher by SGJ.
Currently:
Circe by Madeline Miller
Giant Days vol 7 by John Allison. (Not sure why I haven't finished it lol)
Next:
Coexistence by Billy-Ray Belcourt (I'm so excited for this one)
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: How many books did you read last month? What were your favorite and least favorite reads?"I read six books in August.
My favorite was either If an Egyptian Cannot Speak English by Noor Naga or Giant Days vols 5 & 6 by John Allison.
My least favorite was definitely The Wall by Marlen Haushofer. Genuinely, one of the most boring books I've ever read.
