2025 TV Episode Spell Out #2 - Only Murders in the BuildingDuration: Aug 01, 2025 - Jan 31, 2026
For this round, we are going to spell out episodes from Only Murders in the Building, an American mystery/comedy/drama television series. The show focuses on a trio of strangers with a shared interest in true crime podcasts, who become friends while investigating a succession of suspicious murders in the Arconia, their upscale apartment building on Manhattan's Upper West Side, and producing their own podcast about the cases, titled Only Murders in the Building. It's first season premiered on Hulu in August 2021 and is currently renewed for a fifth season.
This is a spell-out challenge. This is a six-month challenge, so please choose enough phrases to give you a minimum of 30 books, and any phrase you start should be completed, even if it puts you over the 30-book minimum.
We're going to keep the same twist that the first 2025 TV spell-out had, as this show has relatively few episodes per season as well. To participate, you must pick a title from each season. If that doesn't get you to 30 books, you may pick titles from whichever season you like until you make up 30 books.

-In the case of a hyphenated first or last name (i.e. Sarah-Kate Lynch, Kate Dyer-Seeley), the first letter of the hyphenated name may be used (not the second initial directly following the hyphen).
-If an author uses what appears to be "two last names" (usually a female author using her maiden name and then her married last name; i.e. Kathy Hogan Trocheck), the last initial of the two names counts since the maiden name is now serving in the place of a "middle" name.

Trivia
1. Once home to a prosperous fishing village, housing a school, hospital, airstrip and chapel, Ilha dos Tigres (Tiger Island) is now nothing but ruins. It was established in 1860s by fishermen from Portugal and lasted for a century, with its last inhabitants relocating in the 1970s. Over the years, Ilha dos Tigres has been periodically linked to the mainland, then back into an island, based on tidal currents. It has been in its current island state in the 1960s, when a large storm came through the area and caused its inhabitants to relocate.

2. The Mwila or Mumuhuila are a semi-nomadic ethnic group living in the Huila province of Southern Angola. They are mainly subsistence farmers, growing maize and other crops, raising fowls, cattle and goats. The women of the Mwila tribe have ornate hairstyles – they use a red stone, oil, butter, tree bark, herbs and sometimes cow dung to make a paste for their hair. They use headrests to protect their hairstyles. They also wear brightly colored necklaces to represent various stages of their lives – once they wear it, they never take it off for the rest of their lives.

3. The Iron Palace is a historical building in Luanda, believed to have been designed and built by Gustave Eiffel, of the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty fame. The history of the building is a bit of a mystery, no official record of it exists. It was pre-built probably in France in the 1890s and was destined to go to Madagascar (probably). What is certain is that the ship carrying it ran aground on Angola’s Skeleton Coast and the Portuguese rulers of the colony claimed the ship and its contents, including the palace. During Portuguese rule, the building functioned as an arts center. During Angola’s civil war years, it fell into neglect. It has been revived since then, but its use is still uncertain – it may be used in the future to house a diamond museum or a restaurant.

4. About 30min north of Luanda, is a barren beach with a strange sight – as many as 50 rusting ships on or near the shore. The beach is officially the SaoTiago Beach, but locals call it Cemiterio de Navios or the ship cemetery. There are a few different stories about the background of the ship cemetery. Some say that it was initially used to offload cargo, but it wasn’t an ideal port – many ships blew or washed aground during storms or heavy seas. When the Port of Luanda was built, the ships that had run aground were abandoned. Some say that it was always meant to be a cemetery for ships, with damaged and derelict ships towed to the spot and left to rust away.

5. The national tree of Angola is the Imbondeiro or the African Baobab. According to legend, the Imbondeiro tree was the first tree ever planted. But after it grumbled about the majesty of other trees nearby, the gods picked it up and planted it upside down to quieten its muttering.

6. About 25 miles outside Angola’s capital city of Luanda, erosion from wind and rain for thousands of years has carved canyons and ridges out of weathered rock. This is Miradouro da Lua, Portuguese for Viewpoint of the Moon. The rock formations are called the karst landscape, which forms from slowly dissolving limestone and other semi-soluble rocks.
