I'm reading a book now that works for the Lamia monster:
works for these two tasks if we need them:
4.) Read a book that features a prophecy.
5.) Read a book where a child (under age 18) is an important part of the plot
Hi Haley. Go ahead and take the position for that task. I am reading a book that works for set in Russia and prison/jail, but I'm fine with just reading it for Russia. Or someone else can take Russia. Whatever works is fine with me. If someone else has a Russia book please let me know and I will not read my book for now. I'll hold on to it for later. I haven't started it yet so it's no biggie for me...
Do you think this would work for suburbs? It's between 100-125 pages so I could read it fairly quick. The Lost Bones
Awesome. Then I'll save Harry Dresden for later when/if we need lightning or some other sort of item...

ETA: I'll read

Sorry I've been on vacation and then catching up with work. I think I read 2 or 3 books while I was away so I'll add what I can. Anything special going on now that I should focus on?
Oh that’s good to know. I’ll go in and list all the minis mine work for. Are we counting books stating June 1st or another date?

I should be able to get more read this month - I have a few vacation days I hope to get some reading/listening done.
I'm listening to Between Two Kings: A Sequel to The Three Musketeers now so I'll finish that one for sure. If you want to swap out for Task 30 (SIO L) it might be a good idea (if you can).
The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa - May 2022 Theme BOM - Animals (starts 16 May 2022)

DQ May 19- How Noriko Learned to Love - End of Book13. In this chapter we get to know Saturo's Aunt Noriko better. What adjectives would you use to describe Noriko's personality? How did you feel about the way Noriko revealed Saturo's birth story? Were you surprised to learn he was adopted?
Noriko is uptight, anxious and abrupt. She is also loyal, caring and motivated. I don't think she knows what she is saying before she said it, and her emotional IQ is very low - or at least it was until Satoru and Nana came to stay. I was surprised to learn he was adopted.
14. Did you think Nana running off towards the end and living his former life as a stray was fitting for the story. Was it believable that he would come back and forth visiting Saturo in the hospital?
I loved that part of the ending, and totally believable.A
15. Endings...they must be the second hardest thing to write for authors after beginnings. Did you like the ending? You may consider the Epilogue also when answering the question, if you like.
I loved the ending and was tearing up the final chapter. The epilogue actually brought me back a little bit so I liked it.
16. The author, Hiro Arikawa, has written other books, with very different genre. She has written books about Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF). (I have to admit I know nothing about that!).
Would you read another book written by her? And lastly, would you recommend this book to others? If so, would you only recommend it to people who you know are cat lovers or would you widely recommend it?
I won't go searching for more books by this author, but would recommend this book to animal lovers, especially cats and dogs.
