269862 Added your books! imyril, I guess we'll be picking the November theme soon enough, so let's hope you will find something you can choose then :)

269862 Nicky - welcome!!! I feel like I both want to know more about tweetyourbooks and also don't :D are the books good quality? Because I've signed up for a few more services that do review programs, but they don't even come close to NetGalley or Edelweiss (in short? I would never even look in the direction of the books they try to push at people, super low quality). So now I'm curious about the tweetyourbooks one :D
BTW, no matter that you're late. This group basically exists because you answered my comment and said it would be cool to actually have this :D you can pick your book now, the theme is Creeptober! So start reading ;)

Melanie - hi! Nice to have you with us. You have pretty much as many as I do!!! I am so happy I'm not alone :D that's a lot of print ARCs, most of mine are eARCs. I hope we can motivate you to read. Be sure to pick your theme book and comment in the book you choose for October discussion thread :)

269862 So... anyone reading anything good yet? I haven't started 😂
Oct 10, 2017 12:39PM

269862 XD what's your secret to having no life? Cause I also have no [social] life, but work seems to take an uncivilized amount of time 😂
Oct 10, 2017 12:33PM

269862 Will add both of those to the shelf :) Anne, your book sounds good!
Oct 09, 2017 11:19AM

269862 I've added everyone's books to the shelf! I think I am going to read Magic Bitter, Magic Sweet - just like I said I might. Firstly, because it's one of my oldest ARCs, and secondly - because there are witches, treats and ghosts! So I'm already quite excited.

Belle, I hope we can give you some motivation! I hope you all visit the discussion thread from time to time to update us with sweet sweet gossip about your own book. At the end of the week we could also talk about progress!
Oct 09, 2017 11:09AM

269862 And that's probably a good thing 😃

269862 They look great :) doesn't seem like either one matches the theme of October though, huh? A shame. Maybe later we can pick something to fit epic fantasy :) they look good!
Oct 09, 2017 05:44AM

269862 Bethan is right! You all can totally pick more than one book if you want! At first I thought maybe I shouldn't put Dracula on the list, since it's not an ARC and Bethan's already got a book for Creeptober, but I'll just make a separate shelf for these kinds of reads.

I have put them all into the group shelf, with you as the discussion leader for your own book ;) (my inner OCD demon is very happy at all these settings possibilities.)

Waiting up for everyone else's books!

269862 Hi Beth! Very glad to have you here too :) I really hope we can motivate each other well and we're all active and we read as many ARCs as possible :)
I think eventually we can have our own readathon, maybe... But not yet! :D time, time, time...

Hahah, Beth, that's really funny, but I can understand it, cause I also find it hard to say no :D but it's harder for me with NetGalley...

269862 Hi everyone,

as you might have expected, Creeptober won!

So now that we've got the emotion out of the way, let's start talking about the reading. What's the plan???

1. You approach your huuuuge [virtual or not] pile of ARCs

2. You pick one that matches the Creeptober theme

3. If you fail to find one that is creepy enough, anything with magic, witches, dark fantasy or mysteries/death will do. We want you to read even if the theme is hard to accomodate!

4. You come to this thread and post a link to your book, and tell us in short what the book is about and what you expect from it. Please use the add book/author option that you can right right above the box you're writing the post in! That way I will be able to know which book it is and I'll be able to put it on the group shelf for everyone to see.

5. As you're reading, don't be shy and drop by the discussion thread! Doesn't matter that we're all reading different books, we can still discuss. Share what the most exciting part of the book for you. Share if you're being bored to death and going to DNF. I will try to ask discussion questions if I come up with any to facilitate discussion!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate and ask!

I'll be waiting for the books you've all picked for the theme :)

269862 This is the discussion thread for your October (I mean, Creeptober) reading.

You are free to fangirl as much as you like here:

Or complain if the book is boring you to death:

If you think we must also absolutely read this book, this is where you scream about it.

I will try to facilitate discussion by asking some questions as we go!

269862 I've decided to make a topic where we talk about our current oldest ARCs. Hopefully that will help us tackle them better? Because let's face it, those are the ones we really want off the list! 😂

So my oldest ones are these:
Magic Bitter, Magic Sweet by Charlie N. Holmberg The Plague Charmer by Karen Maitland The Doctor of Broad Street a Victorian tale of murder and mystery by Katherine Tansley

I have to admit, most of these look interesting even now! In fact, if creeptober wins? I think I'm going to read Magic Bitter Magic Sweet, because it's about witches, ghosts, cakes and treats and magic!

What are your oldest ARCs?
