Simon wrote: "As for fave movies. Fraid you have to go way back to find a good one these days and that has to be The Big Lebowski. Films today are so trivial and CGId to death."Recently bought The Big Lebowski bluray...need to watch it!!

Jaws and The Graduate..two great films that feature one of my favorite actors..Murray Hamilton..(Mayor in Jaws..Mr. Robinson in The Graduate!!)
Simon wrote: "My fave film version of a fave novel is Jaws. How Steven Speilberg managed to create such a classic and actually improved on the book is a miracle."completely agree..Jaws is one of those films in which everything works..never read book, I know it is different than film and since I love the movie so much (Have it on bluray..even more amazing in hi-def!!) I feel no need to read the book
Scott wrote: "As a nod to the namesake of this group, I have to nominate "Five Fingers," starring, James Mason. The book, "Operation Cicero" is not technically a novel (it claims to be a true story) but is based..."Excellent post Scott!!!!! Love that film!! Mason was perfect as Alan Napier's not so loyal assistant!

James Mason is one of the greatest actors ever but why is a book club named after him?) I am an Ira..."Hi Saideh..Good question!..The reason I named the group after James Mason is that he is my all time favorite actor, and when I started the Group in 2009, with an idea (To create a true "virtual community" of readers and writers) I also wanted to honor his memory...and James Mason actually wrote 2 books, a very facinating memoir, as well as a very witty book on his love of cats back..so..what better name to add a touch of grace to a Group :>)
So many wonderful new members!! I am so very proud and happy to have you ALL as a part of this great Community!

To Those James Mason Members from the UK as well as the many who loved British TV and Humor..so sorry to hear of the death of the magnificent Richard Briers- star of THE GOOD LIFE, and later so very fine in Monarch of the Glen.

So sad about your horse..and I truly identify with you about dogs...throughout my life..during good..and especially during very bad times, my dogs have always been with me. I truly consider them God's greatest gift to humans..a great examples of the attributes humans yearn for..yet never fully achieve..unconditional love, utter honesty and complete acceptance of all.
You alos touch on the one truly hard part of owning and loving adog..when you must say goodbye. It is so very difficult..Etched in my memory is when I hadto bid farewell to my first Collie, Loarn (I was 14) My second Collie Van, (I was 33)..now I have my Schnauzer Velvet, 11 years old, diabetic..requiring insulin shots twice a day..cataracts...and still plugging in there..as happy and brave as any living being..totally accepting of his condition, and still wagging that little docked tail everytime I come home!
So Anne.. All you need to is to take any pictures of your dogs that you can send to your email..open your email..open attached pic..save it in your documents with unique name..then open file and copy location link from top of screen..and paste link. anyone else who can offer more concise directions..please do!!
