25350 I must make mention of a very very special film..MAKE WAY FOR TOMORROW...made in 1937..it starred Beula Bondi and Victor Moore as an elderly couple who lose their home. Faced with having to split up..they turn to their grown children for help...a searing indictment of how the elderly are treated..made over 75 years ago..it remains as relevant today as when it was made.

Part of it's power is the ending..which I will not give away of course. Needless to say, the Studio ordered director Leo McCarey (Duck Soup, The Awful Truth, Going My Way, An Affair to Remember)to change the ending..he refused and was fired after film came out..The film finally came to DVD recently..I had not seen it in over 20 years..yet NEVER forgot it..

I have some touching photos from film on my Facebook Page.. https://www.facebook.com/rick.friedma...

Those who are on Facebook and not friends..by all means send me requests..you KNOW I will accept!..also do feel free to use my Page to post about your own links and projects!

appreciate the reply Jack! I agree..usually frown on "adapted" works on TV..yet very nice when the one in a thousand times TV gets it right! HBO has done a great job...watched a few episodes and seemed quite well done..just never read the books!...yet!

"the decide for me would be the world of the book itself"
VERY keen statement...I only wish she would have shown some remorse over the horrific crime..the fact is she seemed to have little remorse..which truly does effect my reading her books..I wish I could block out the heinous murder Perry committed..but very very difficult for me.

If I am correct Leni R. not only supported the nazis but made propaganda films for them. Horrific human regardless of any talent she may have had. Think she is dead. Was about 100 and still living ... Still despised by many for her atrocious past
