fascinating film and even more fascinating story behind it! I seem to recall that Deanna Durbin was the first choice for Dorothy..even though Durbin (who recently passed away) was with Universal

now Ken..NO WAY you can't like Victor Mature! and No! you don't "think" you liked Boone in Hombre..you KNOW you loved him that western!! Newman and March were terrific in that film..Boone and Balsam were perfect in support!

also confused on music..was a "flapper" era pic..but I do like Leo quite a bit as an actor..J. Edgar is a favorite film of mine..I just placed an order for the bluray which will be out at end of year..did same with J Edgar and was VERY PLEASED.. I do think that Hip-hop can be a very effective sound for film as it has same rhythmic beat as the Jazz era!
