Francis wrote: "It's not my favorite movie either, Rick - but it is, in my humble opinion, the best adaptation of a book to film. The film mirrored the text almost exactly and was very loyal to the original visio..."Never read the book so I did not really know what the plot was, Francis. So many of my friends loved the film, I assumed I would! Also love The Coen Brothers..Fargo is a favorite film of mine..so was expecting more of the same..perhaps if I did not have such expectations for the film..and whole mood of film was not to my taste..but as it won many awards..certainly it appealed to many

Francis wrote: "The Coen Brothers 2007 adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's No Country For Old Men tops my list."I have to be honest Francis, bought the film on bluray without ever seeing it..finally watched it..and really did not like it..found it confusing..and that sudden ending took me for a loop!

Helen wrote: "I think "Minority Report" was better as a movie than a book, as well. Again, the scriptwriter eliminated unnecessary plot elements and twists, and got right to the heart of the story."never read the book, but I enjoyed the film quite a bit..Tom Cruise was superb in that one..not so much in Jack Reacher - which I watched on plane..not a bad performance..just spoiled for me as I read the books and could not fathom the miscasting
KOMET wrote: "The movie version of "From Here to Eternity" is SUPERB. Burt Lancaster (one of my fav actors), Deborah Kerr, Ernest Borgnine, Montgomery Clift, Donna Reed, and Frank Sinatra.
