Chaitra15.1 Follow the Leader
For Book 1, I read The Secret History by Donna Tartt. The narrator, Richard Papen, mentions on Page 2 of the book that he liked to read books by Tolkien.
So, for Book 2, I read The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.
