I'm sure I have several options here, but the one that comes to mind is Margaret Mizushima's. I need to read Burning Ridge for a book club later this year, and I'm kind of a nut about reading series books in order, so I will probably binge-read the entire series.
Yep, I played my GenreLand wildcard in December. I did read indigenous authors in 2018, just not in December. If the sequel to Trail of Lightning comes out this year, I could read that. Or I could finish The Round House or The Marrow Thieves or Ceremony. I also have a copy of Mongrels.I could look at authors from other continents, too.
"Set in," not "published in." Which is probably a good thing. The 1970s just kinda sucked all around. I thought so even during the '70s. But I have a copy of Bridge to Terabithia, and I've heard good things about it.
Well, if I need to double-dip, The Girl Who Played with Fire is a good go-to. I also have a copy of Headhunters.
Y'know, my birth year just wasn't a banner year for the publishing industry. I have a copy of Ringworld, though, so I'm going to go ahead and try to finish it. I know, I know, it's a classic. Whatever.
Yay, Vengeful! I tend to think of sequels as the second book of a two-book series, but there are other types of sequels. Like All Clear, which is a sequel to Blackout, while both books are part of a larger series.
I don't think I've ever actually read 2015 Battle of the Bards Poetry Contest: Winning Entries, so I think I will go with that.
Grr. I hate prompts like this one. But I will probably finish The Canterbury Tales for this one, as it occurred to me that while I've always finished my assigned readings from this book, I've never actually been assigned the whole thing. And I've never read it in the original language, always a modern English version. So I'm going to give that a shot.
Another category that's hard to pin down, at least for me. Perhaps For Her Own Good: Two Centuries of the Experts' Advice to Women.
Maybe Everfair? This was a hard category for me to pin down, which may explain why I didn't do it last year.
There are the Stieg Larsson books, so I might read The Girl Who Played with Fire for this one, since I've had a copy for several years now. But I've had Letters from the Earth: Uncensored Writings even longer.
I'm sure there are some lists posted somewhere. I'll see if I can track down a few and link to them here. I will probably be reading Where'd You Go, Bernadette.

Is there a reason (perhaps related to why you have them slig..."Just that I haven't had enough time these past few weeks and January is disappearing too quickly! I hope to be able to get back to it tonight. :-)
Another prompt that should get ticked off quickly. This must be another fail from the Goodreads summer reading challenge. It was arranged so strangely that it was difficult to fit books in even when the prompts weren't that challenging.
Since a lot of my vacation time (and money) is spent in the dealers' room at conventions, this should be an easy one for me. Or I could go with a book I purchased in a museum gift shop.
I'd say BookCrossing book buffets count for this as well. We'll just see what I get to first, as a large chunk of my library comes from these sources.
22. A book that takes place on an island or in which the characters find themselves stranded

Surely there is a cozy mystery out there that works for this. If not, there is a niche that wants filling!
I just finished Zero G, which I'm counting as my Alphabet Soup "Z" book, which is part of my two-year-fail punishment. If I turn to double-dipping, I will count it for this as well, but I don't think it will come to that, as I think I have other outer-space reading lined up for the year already. But if you're looking for a short and action-packed story, this middle grades full-cast adventure from Audible is pretty good.Six Wakes also fits this prompt. I wasn't that taken with it, but it seems to be very popular.
