You may add two books as long as they are different genres, so you can add your YA Dystopian as welll. And I will add any info/links that you want to your author page.

201765 Thanks Alex!

I've decided to keep the Pexels images (you can't beat free) but I edited their colors so that the images match a bit. The sci fi one is photoshopped and is so cool, if I may say so myself. :D

I'm excited!

I'm skipping this round because I'll be very busy but I'll be back for the next round.

I agree.

Good idea. They have to become members though. :D

How come you don't have a kindle edition of your book Erica?

Can you guys add your official links to the other thread or in your case Alex, add them to your post in there? The list one? Just so that I don't miss anything.

Yes, exactly what I was thinking. Plus it can become crowdy and overwhelming very quickly. Most of us, when we shop on Amazon, we usually go to the genres that interests us the most; this website allows for that pattern of consumer behavior to continue.

P.S. I hate the Pexels images on the Book event page by the way. I will try to find better ones on Dreamstime later. (Or if anyone has any images, let me know,)

Hi Angel and J.B. Can you guys list the top 3 genres that best fit your book?

Hi Brittney! Actually, Carole is the one that said one book each. I don't mind. Look at her, breaking her own rule. :p
Feb 23, 2017 06:32AM

201765 I added Carole's book under the tab for authors. She didn't ask me to do this but I thought it was the right thing to do. Carole is always ready with advice or to hear someones rants via DM (erhm, erhm, yeah that would be me lol), or to offer her time and money by organizing swag bags etc. After shamelessly stealing her book title for the website's name, I thought a bit of free advertising was the least I (well, all of us) could do, really. I'm sure you all would agree!

But with your help, I hope that we can use the website to add resources, share cool articles etc. We won't just use it for the EVENTS. We'll turn it into a very cool, non-stuffy, informative website "FOR INDIES BY INDIES". :D

Took me like the whole night to think of that tagline. Lolol.

Whoa, whoa, hold your horses lol. We still need to add an about page and Erin has to fix the text before it's ready to be tweeted lol.

Thanks Erica!

201765 Hi Nathan. Have you tried making covers before? If so Photoshop is a good bet. If not; Canva is a good option.
Feb 22, 2017 11:54PM

201765 Thanks Alex, that's very generous of you.

A couple of things before you click on the website:
1. The text is temporary. Erin has offered to do the copywriting. I will make a user profile for her and hand over the reins.
2. The images are from pexels and might be temporary if you all think that we should make the website more colorful. I like a clean palette but I will make it more colorful if the majority says to spice it up.
3. The book event page is up. I've added the different genres. When you click on the genre, it leads you to the books that fall under that category. When you click on one of the books shown there, it leads you to the blurb, amazon link and an individual author page.
4. The author pages contain text/pictures that I grabbed from everyone's amazon author page. If you'd like to change the text, let me know. If you'd like to add your website, facebook or twitter, DM me the links with NAVIGATING INDIEWORLD AUTHOR INFO in the subject line.
5. I added a part of my own interview to the blog lol. If you have an article or interview you'd like me to include on the blog, DM me the info with as subject line: WAZZZZUP ADD THIS. Lol. Or "BLOG ARTICLE".
6. If your book hasn't been added yet, don't worry, we'll add it soon.
7. If you have any suggestions or tips regarding the website layout or content to add, please tell me in this thread. I'd love to hear them! No (wo)man's an island.
8. Our group doesn't have a FB or Twitter page. If someone wants to set one up, please do so! :)
9. Finally, here's the link: http://navigatingindieworld.com

201765 The brand, Navigating Indieworld, is growing by leaps and bounds. We decided there was a need for a collaborative marketing effort that required a bit of an investment to begin a website, giveaways, events, and special projects that are in the works. Our goal is that you will all benefit from this in many ways. We will ask authors to contribute (social media promoting, shares, tweets, etc) and the organizers will present you with promotional material and a really cool website that consumers can visit, etc. We want to build a large network and support system for all indie authors.

Maybe a general name and then we can use your suggestions as taglines??
201765 Carole wrote: "We can link it to Amazon right? Should we list more links like out Facebook or other social media- I don't know if that's too hard?"

Hey, that's a good idea. We can put each author's facebook, twitter, website on their books page. No, I can do that easily as well.
