I thought your books were just that a mix of real historical with romance. Not specifically romance. More like the thorn birds or a family saga. You know like that series I mentioned in another thread. I can’t think of the name right now
Great article. I just thought about it- Romance was my reading book genre of choice for many years and I was more willing to experiment and try new authors- (specifically Regency romance)-It's funny- while I read anything- I was usually wary of trying a new author in other genres. I hadn't thought about that. Maybe romance readers are more adventurous.
Alex send me a blog post about your books and I'll put it up- You do it too Amy- Brit will post them- hopefully, it will net you a sale somewhere in the states.
Healing from surgery is easier if you lose the weight. That's why they like you to be thinner. Try the keto diet, Alex. my whole family has done very well with it. As a combined group we lost close to three hundred pounds.
I paid a local bookstore monthly"real estate" to carry some of our books. My books sold well, but after the monthly charges and their cut- I realized I was losing money and pulled the books.
I'm in if you'll take me, Erica. If you need the space for someone else-- I understand. Let Brit know if you need anything.
I think something like 80 percent of British people are descendants of Edward the third. I found out that I have a percentage of English DNA- Hi cuz. I also found my aunt's illegitimate daughter- that nobody in the family knew about except for me, I wrote about it on Medium.
It was interesting connecting with Clifford ( the guy who did the video). I knew his parents very well, I adored them. They lived far away and never brought him to visit. In those days there weren't many highways and a trip from Jersey to Queens took hours. I did remember seeing a picture of him. I lost touch with them all after my grandmother passed away- so it was really nice reconnecting.
Hey guys, I did the DNA thing and found a second or third cousin who is a musician who is crusading for healthcare for all. I'm pretty proud of him- please share if you don't mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkzI_...
In the spirit of what everybody has said about valuing the books and all that- I raised all our prices to 2.99. I continued all my promotions the way I had been doing them. We didn't sell a single book for almost four months. It dropped off to nothing- so I put everything down to 99 cents and they have been staying in the top 200 of their genre. They are selling, now- not like it was before- but I think there are other reasons for that. Both Michael and I have had thousands of books downloaded for free when I did the KDP . I don't think people actually read the books. I think they download them and then forget about them because they are free. I am more apt to buy an indie at 99 cents because it's cheap enough I won't feel mad if the book is not good. We have the same theory with Apple TV- If the choice is a 3.99 movie vs a more expensive movie- my husband and I usually chose the cheaper one. (mainly because we agree they are all mostly crap anyway.)
