Fun fact! The author lived, for awhile, in Norval, Ontario, which is just a 10-minute drive from my house.
I missed reading this one in my youth. Always thought it was too "simpy". Now that I'm older, it's time to give it a whirl, so will be joining in this read too.
This story will haunt me for a long time. It was a wonderful read, written with intelligence and sensitivity. I so hated Amir at the start, by how he treated his so-called best friend. But by the end, I was rooting for his redemption. This was historical fiction at its best. I look forward to reading A Thousand Splendid Suns very soon.

I've had this book on my TBR shelf for years, so I'll be joining this group read. Such a popular book. High expectations!
