^^^ What Dwayne said. Thank you all for obliging. I run a neutral bar where we only talk about pleasant writing things. And alcohol.
Hi Shirley, since the original creation of this post, we've changed our guidelines to state that we don't allow posting links within this group. We've had too many harmful spam links posted. If you could edit your post to remove the link, I'd appreciate it. People can search for the name and find it themselves.
Thank you!
I think we've got a thread that deals with this very specifically. You can put out a request for them to remove it, but it is definitely a spammer fishing for email addresses. Give me one moment and I'll link to the other thread (I am a moderator and posting a link to another thread within this forum, not an external link.)
It's a train wreck...one that makes you laugh, cry, and feel a little disgusted with the human race. These people just live on an entirely different planet. Their mindset and thinking processes are so far out there. It was mind boggling, but fully worth the watch.
The virtual Support Indie Authors bar will remain open. Virtual drinks are on us tonight!Should we talk about sports, the weather, or The Tiger King?
I responded to your email Ross. Please feel free to direct message me if you still haven't received it. Thank you,
Ann

Opinions have been stated. Cases have been made. Whether or not you believe Goodreads can help you as an author or not, we are here able to share our experiences with many many other authors because of Goodreads.
I'm going to go ahead and close this thread because I believe the point has been made and I don't want to see a spiral down into berating Goodreads - the place that graciously allows us to chat with one another for no cost.
Hi there! If you happen to be a member of our group and are a business member - especially someone who's main customer group is authors, please note that we do not allow promotional posts here.
In addition, if we as authors have to accept our bad reviews with dignity, YOU DO TOO. Do not join this group to argue against people who are frustrated with the services you provided them.
Your posts will be deleted.
You will be banned and reported to Goodreads.
Thank you,
Ann
I am happy to further explain how forums>folders>topics work but this is NOT the place for this as this particular topic is for members to specifically ask the moderators of this forum questions. Personally, I recommend taking this conversation to a new thread under the eBook Publishing folder:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
If you need assistance doing that, please let me know and I will happily help and continue to discuss this with you via private message.
No - we are only referring to THIS thread which is titled “Ask A Moderator.” There are many other threads within the folders of the SIA group which would be more suited for this conversation:
Hi Bill, What Dwayne is pointing out is that this particular topic is called "Ask the Moderator." We have lots of other topics that would be more fitting for this discussion. We try to maintain organization within our folders to keep the chaos away and to make sure that our topics are searchable for the topics our members are looking for.
I think I've had it take 3-5 days. It just depends on how far down the list you are based on first come-first serve basis. If you don't hear back within a week, I would reach out again.
We use a combination of tee spring and a local vendor in the KC area. Teespring and Zazzle are both easy to use.
I think that blurb reads really well! I've always felt that one of the purposes of a blurb is to attract the right type of reader and to let people who wouldn't enjoy your writing know that this book probably isn't for them. I think this thread is a great example of how that works.
This blurb tells me your genre, just enough of the plot line to get me curious as to what will happen, and gives me a sense of your writing style, which is in a style that I enjoy.
And even more: it makes me happy that you're happy with your blurb. I feel that's not said enough :)
I second VM: best of luck to you!
It was not great - we escaped as quickly as we could and then my husband took me out for a nice dinner and a bottle of wine. He is back in my good graces :)
And my husband said we’d only be here for an hour so I didn’t bring a flask....he will now suffer the supreme wrath! Lol
Stuck in a wedding reception where the bride and groom didn’t arrive for sooooo long! And there’s no booze!! Someone save me!!
