123947 Maisie is certainly a strong woman. She does whatever is necessary to do the best for Harry. I think there is more to her than we know. I wish more of her story would be told. Maybe in future books?

123947 Chapter 35 from Giles

"If you make a deal with a fool, don't be surprised when they act foolishly"

This line made me stop and think.

123947 After thinking about the comment on Maisie's character - that her fling with Hugo was out of character for her - I had a change of mind. We didn't really get to know Maisie that well through the book. Her character is also one who becomes a prostitute after losing her job. Not that I blame her; she did what she had to do to keep Harry in school but that also says a lot about her as a person.

123947 I love this book! I loved how the story is told by the great characters especially Old Jack. I knew he would be the one to tell the secret of Hugo potentially being Harry's father.

I felt so sad for Harry and Emma. Their playing Romeo and Juliet foretold their future. Can't wait to read the rest of the Clifton stories. Will definitely be reading more books by Jeffrey Archer too!

123947 Love the book so far! Old Jack seems to know more than he lets on so far. Can't wait to see how his character develops.

I really like Harry. I feel his low self esteem as he gets to know the school and other things he hadn't learned.

I also felt like I was reading Harry Potter when they stared talking about his boarding school. And the name being Harry didn't help that any.

Can't wait to read more!
