1176148 From Mary Kay Andrews, New York Times bestselling author of The Homewreckers and The Santa Suit, comes a novella celebrating love and the warm, glittering charm of the holiday season.

When fall rolls around, it’s time for Kerry Tolliver to leave her family’s Christmas tree farm in the mountains of North Carolina for the wilds of New York City to help her gruff older brother & his dog, Queenie, sell the trees at the family stand on a corner in Greenwich Village. Sharing a tiny vintage camper and experiencing Manhattan for the first time, Kerry’s ready to try to carve out a new corner for herself.

In the weeks leading into Christmas, Kerry quickly becomes close with the charming neighbors who live near their stand. When an elderly neighbor goes missing, Kerry will need to combine her country know-how with her newly acquired New York knowledge to protect the new friends she’s come to think of as family,

And complicating everything is Patrick, a single dad raising his adorable, dragon-loving son Austin on this quirky block. Kerry and Patrick’s chemistry is undeniable, but what chance does this holiday romance really have?

Filled with family ties, both rekindled and new, and sparkling with Christmas magic, Bright Lights, Big Christmas delivers everything Mary Kay Andrews fans adore, all tied up in a hilarious, romantic gem of a novel.

1176148 A Christmas Carol
Charles Dickens

'If I had my way, every idiot who goes around with Merry Christmas on his lips, would be boiled with his own pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart. Merry Christmas? Bah humbug!'

Introduction and Afterword by Joe Wheeler
To bitter, miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, Christmas is just another day. But all that changes when the ghost of his long-dead business partner appears, warning Scrooge to change his ways before it's too late.

Part of the Focus on the Family Great Stories collection, this abridged edition features an in-depth introduction and discussion questions by Joe Wheeler to provide greater understanding for today's reader. "A Christmas Carol" captures the heart of the holidays like no other novel.

Good luck with that....
1176148 Don't blame you a bit, Lea.

That's hilarious, AND it resonates. :)
1176148 Here's what I don't understand -- how is it possible that I both don't remember these books and yet somehow am also sick of seeing them? They must register with me subconsciously when I'm digging through my kindle.

Funny you should ask. I'm usually a statistician, analyst and subject matter expert in several things at my local sheriff's office. (A lot of the tasks associated with that I can do in my sleep, hence the listening to books.)

The incumbent sheriff just got removed (for lots of reasons, some of which I suspect were illegal acts) and the replacement came in to an agency with 250 vacancies and a serious issue with the director of personnel. The director of personnel has been ousted, and the new sheriff named *ME* the acting director while they search for a permanent replacement. So.... yes.... we're hiring, and it's actually my job to do that at the moment! LOLOL

1176148 Time to pick! Pairs are here!
1176148 I've known about this series for years but didn't read any until a couple were about to expire on Audible Plus in September, and I listened to them before they disappeared. But I really like her Sister Jane series.
