overall how did you like the book?

i‘m really happy that in the end richie was just sad and alone because he made their lives miserable for so long and it’s so sad that in the beginning of their relationship richie was so nice and sweet towards the mother and in the end he was just abusing and awful. it’s really disturbing that he thought that way about eleanor since she’s a minor and how did no one ever notice him writing that stuff on her books..? bc he did it a lot and there isn’t much space to hide and do secret stuff in the house. parks parents were really great. his mom kinda realized why eleanor was the way she is when she saw her big family and then she understood her and related to her and was really nice. also it’s kinda a good example that although parks father didn’t like the eyeliner park still used it when he went to school and stayed true to himself and didn’t change just because his father wanted him to. and i get that eleanor wanted things to herself and when she got that christmas money she gave it all to her mom to buy food but she maybe could’ve surprised her sister and let her use makeup bc the make-up wasn’t that personal and would’ve made maisy happy. especially since eleanor was fortunate enough to be at parks house almost every day allowing her to spend almost no time at home and the other children weren’t so fortunate. she could’ve somehow tried to help them too or make their lives better too, even if it’s just a little thing
i really liked the writing style and that i was never really bored but rather interested and wanted to continue reading

i also finished. that was a really unexpected turn. like isn't he paying for those books and literally destroying them and also what??? so did he despise her or did he want her? in the end did Eleanors mom and siblings also go to her uncles or did they go somewhere else? and its kinda crazy that Eleanor waited for a year until she responded even though he wrote her all those letters. and I was so happy that parks dad helped them. and the first page was actually one of the last pages. I thought it was sad how her siblings kinda blackmailed her into sharing the comics and makeup and how she wouldn't have shared otherwise. and I still don't fully understand why Richie got so mad that she has a boyfriend like it's none of his business and he shouldn't care. but at least Eleanor is better off now and has everything she wants (except for park)

yeah he wants to control them but he doesn’t actually care about them so he’s just making their lives a lot worse..

maybe she is thinking about her children..i mean she has no job and thus no money and she couldn’t provide for them. they would have no food and no home and imagine how mad richie would get if she actually left him. but it was really unexpected and nice of him to get everyone really nice presents although wouldn’t he get annoyed when the piano was playing and eleanor had to give hers up without a thank u...even though richie said that he gave the mother money but it probably wasn’t enough..and it’s so wrong that he gets to eat steak everyday while the children get a few beans and i don’t get why he even cares what the children (especially eleanor) are doing

how far are you?

i finished chapter 34

i get your point about it being rushed..that was their first ‚real‘ conversation where they could talk about anything they wanted and actually i don’t think they know that much about each other besides their comic and music taste like for example i don’t think eleanor knows that park and tina were together (i think) and park basically doesn’t know anything about eleanor and they just haven’t talked about a lot of stuff so they don’t know each other’s opinions and in light of this it’s kinda weird to say that he loves her because he doesn’t really know her..

maybe finish chapter 34? that’s almost 100 pages..

how far do you want to read until we catch up again?

omg i‘m so excited right now. he just told her that he loved her and it’s so cute. and he is always really nice and really sweet to her but it really seems like she’s kinda pissed at him oftentimes or she just doesn’t say anything but maybe it’ll get better after her confession. and it isn’t good that park is kinda ashamed of people knowing about them but i think that it’s also getting better because he invited her to meet his parents and because he said that he could never be ashamed of her and maybe before he just said that they weren’t together because it wasn’t official or anything and maybe he wasn’t sure himself (i don’t even think that it’s official right now but they both admitted that they liked each other) and you’re totally right about her father. he never took care of them and it seems like he didn’t even care how they were doing and she literally said (maybe it’s the last time i‘ll see him) and he‘s never present. and i feel really bad for her that she can’t live her life because richie is trying to make her miserable and that she washes her hair with dishwasher and that her clothes have holes but at least she now feels safe and comfortable and happy with park

what did u think about it? I'm still at chapter 13 because I didn't have much time to read yesterday but I'll try to catch up quickly

maybe finish chapter 19? it’s a little farther than page 100 though

would you be alright with reading to page 100 or something like that?

yeah I don't understand why Eleanors mum won't leave richie because he threw her daughter out and is probably abusive towards her...and why Eleanor even came back, because back where she was, she had friends and didn't have to be around Richie...but up until now this book has really surprised me because I just expected a love story and didn't think that their lives would be so difficult and that they just kinda disliked each other...and the first page..does that mean that they will break up? because it kinda sounds that way...do you wanna continue reading today or rather tomorrow?

i thought that u already started and didn’t want to fall behind..sorry..i finished chapter 7 (so only 30 pages) and i’m gonna wait until you catch up
