106503 Thanks. I finished The Endearment and I'm reading Years now and liking it so far. Her books have all been 5 star reads for me so far.

106503 It looks like I have found another author worth binge reading after reading all my Judith Mcnaught, and it's LaVyrle Spencer. I've read Morning Glory, The Fulfillment, and currently The Endearment. I've added a bunch of her books to my TBR (mostly the historicals) and I'm trying to decide which order to read them. Help me decide, which are your favorites by LaVyrle Spencer?

I don't plan on reading the sequel either I thought the ending was perfect, no need for a sequel.

106503 I love having a big TBR. I don't feel like it's a race I like to have lots of variety to choose from when I'm ready to start a new book.
106503 OK so I finished the book.
***Spoilers***(in case you read this before you finish)

I wasn't really invested in the story I think mostly because I was not in the mood to read a post apocalyptic story right now but overall the book was good. The writing is good and easy to read and follow. I like her the characters especially Penryn. She handles her situation really well and she's strong and not the usual flighty, weak heroine I have read in other stories like this. I like the love hate type relation ship between her and Raffe. Of course I like more romance in my books it was very realistic that there really wasn't any in this book really but you do end up getting a better idea of how Raffe feels about Penryn at the end of the book. I'm sure there will be more of a connection between the two in future books. I was surprised that she found her sister in this first book already I assumed because there are three books in this series they would drag that out a bit longer. But of course her sister is very different now and I'm sure that will cause some conflict in the future books and how she is tied to the angels. Her mom was weird throughout and I thought she didn't react to her missing daughter and even leaving Penryn on her own like she should have but I guess that is because of her mental disorder. I felt bad about what happened with Raffe's wings and it was a good twist to add and that should also add another interesting element to the future books and how that affects him.
Overall I think if I was in a different mind set I would have enjoyed the book more I kind of wish I had waited to read it. I can definately see why so many people really liked it though it is a unique story. There were parts or rather characters that reminded me a little of the Hush Hush series but it's been at least 5 years since I've read that so I could be crazy, but Raffe's character did have some similarities to Patch's character from those books.
So what did you think, did you like the book? Did it keep your interest? What parts were your favorite? Will you continue the series? I will probably continue the series but not for some time. I will wait until I am in the mood for this type of story and I think I will enjoy it more that way.
106503 I read the Fallen series, and also Mad World series that were both about angels. Probably some others but I can't think of them right now. So OK lets do 20 more chapters that should give us some things to discuss:)
106503 OK so I made it through the first 10 chapters. They are pretty short so I don't have a whole lot to say just yet but so far it is good. I'm a mood reader and it's kind of hard for me to get into this type of book when I'm not in a dystopian/paranormal type mood but it is still easy enough to follow. It's interesting to have characters like the mother have a mental illness and the sister disabled I haven't read that before in this genre and I was almost laughing at some of the things the mom was doing to the dead bodies, LOL. I can tell it's going to be pretty gory and graphic which is also different for me. I'm not usually into angel books but this series has gotten a lot of hype so I thought I should check it out. I'm hoping I like it. Penryn is pretty bad ass which is a nice change from the damsel in distress characters you usually find.
Let me know what you think so far. How much more should we read before checking in again?
106503 I haven't started yet I will tonight and post here when I'm 10 chapters in. how are you liking it so far? Was it easy to get into? Sometimes with dystopian/paranormal books there is so much world building and character development and information to process in the beginning it takes me longer to really get into the story.

106503 I don't know about others but for me the most emotional books are those that really end up staying with me and are almost always 5 star reads for me. I'm always looking for a good tear-jerker. So what books have made you cry?
106503 Hmm lets say the first 10 chapters? I'm not sure how long they are but maybe by then we'll have read enough to discuss.
106503 Sure you can join us. Looks like we decided on Angelfall, we'll get started in a few days.
106503 Sure we can do Angelfall. I already own it on my kindle so I can start whenever :)
106503 Unfortunately there isn't any book on that list that I haven't already read that I own or am interested in reading :( If you have to go and buy a book for us to buddy read why don't you choose. I don't you to have to look all over to get Sweet Evil. The first message I sent you had a list of books that we share in wanting to read, maybe pick something else from that, that you can find at the book store? It;s a little easier for me since I read on a kindle.
106503 We can choose another book if you want to, one you already have? Let me know what you have and we can decide :)
106503 I already have it on my kindle so I'll probably get started soon :)
106503 If your OK with it I think I would like to read Sweet Evil? Let me know and how far along you want to go before we start discussing it :)
106503 Sure we can do that one if that is what you prefer. I had started this book at one time only about 2 chapters or so but it didn't grab my attention right off so I set it down and haven't picked it back up yet. Although I have been in a bit of a paranormal romance mood so I was kind of looking forward to Sweet Evil series I've heard good things about.
