[close] "We always benefit from coming together, sharing stories, and engaging in a community of peers who understand what we are going through." That's what licensed psychologist, author, and executive director at Summit Center Dan Peters said about participating in Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted's conference. More often than not, people are lone ships in a sea of so-called “normal” parents and families, navigating for themselves or that special gifted child or person in their lives. That's just one reason this Goodreads group exists. It's open to parents, educators, counseling professionals, and anyone who's seeking information. Discuss and share books and resources about gifted and giftedness. There is no reason any of us ever have to feel as if we are doing anything alone.
