Civil War

A civil war is a war between organized groups within the same nation state or republic, or, less commonly, between two countries created from a formerly-united nation state.

In America, "Civil War" is often used to refer to the American Civil War. In Britain, it usually refers to the English Civil War from 1642–1651. Other civil wars in modern times include the Irish Civil War, the Spanish Civil War, and the Syrian Civil War.

Mark Twain
Each of you, for himself or herself, by himself or herself, and on his or her own responsibility, must speak. You cannot shirk this and be a man, to decide it against your convictions is to be an unqualified and inexcusable traitor. It is tra ...more

Right or wrong, justifiable or unjustifiable -- which I need not discuss today -- it changed the world. For four long years the civilized world was engaged in killing men. Christian against C ...more
