ساختاری که حتی در طبقهبندی موجودات زنده هم قرار نمیگیره. در ظاهر غیرمنطقیه که یک موجود اینقدر ابتدایی برای موجودی هوشمند به پیشرفتگی انسان که متکاملترین نوع حیات روی زمینِ دردسرساز باشه ولی ویروس یک ماشین سلولکشی فوقالعاده کارآمده که حتی یک مولکول اضافه هم نداره. ویروسها بارها بهترین زیستشناسهای ما رو شکست دادهان و این قابلیت رو دارن که کل تمدن پیشرفتهی ما رو دود کنن و به هوا بفرستن

مفرح، پر ملات برای تدریس کلاس مقدمات انسانشناسی، بهفکرانداز، ولی بیشتر از همه چیز مفرح. ویروس جدیدی ظاهر میشه که همه سکنه دنیا رو میکشه به جز یه تعداد محدود و اینا در حین اینکه بدجوری گیر افتادن باید تمدن و دنیای جدید رو شروع کنن. نکته اینه که لازم نیست از نقطه صفر شروع کنن و به تاریخ و اشیای قبل ویروس دسترسی دارن و اینجاس که انتخابها معنادار میشه، مثلا تاسيس يه موزه يا دستاندازی به ادبیات. در طول خوندنش دوست داشتم بخشی از دنیای جدید و نو باشم. احساس اینکه همهچیز تو این دنیا ضرورت داره و هنوز رو
