Unfortunately I found this book quite boring despite its fascinating theme. His distinctions of 3 types of friendship felt artificial, the case studies repetitive and his first chapter where he reviews literature on friendship was both tedious and often written in an unclear way. Some sentences literally didn’t make sense. A more subtle analysis with more variations of different friendship types would have improved the book significantly.
