Part 1 of this complete edition contains the following novels from the original
The Breaking Point The Damaged World The Darkest Day The Longest Night
The characters are very well defined and keep your interest. The story with its plots and twists are fantastic. However, of the four books, you could have saved an entire book if the author had cut out all of the repeats of already established information. I wanted to follow the story not relive the past over and over and over again. I have started the next set with the foreknowledge that I will be skimming all the repeated information. I understand the need to put information in the prologue for new readers of a series. I just don't think there is a need to pack the story with so many recollections. If not for this, I would have given 5-stars for the story alone.
Every book in this series kept me on the edge of my seat. I was constantly trying to warn the characters of lurking dangers or was all tensed up, existing in their world for a while & hoping the good guys would finally win. Spoiler alert: they haven’t yet. I’m ready to start Part 2! Excellent series!
The one star review had to be a mistake. In depth characters and a great story line. Don't see how anyone would not love these books, even if you are not a fan of post apocalypse stories.
Only one month since the EMP, and the north east has gone to hell in a handbasket! Lizzy, Kari and Lucas are working to get to the kids. I am looking forward to the second half of this series.
