Lazy Dungeon Master #17

Lazy Dungeon Master, Volume 17

Rate this book
I’m Keima Masuda, a Dungeon Master aiming to not do any work. Several months after bringing the Holy Kingdom under my control, Haku managed to land the finishing blow on Core 10, who previously got away. I thought I was finally about to get all the pieces of the Divine Bedding and be as lazy as I want now that he’s gone, but...

“Sorry, Master... Laters.”

Ichika’s betrayal leads to our dungeon being attacked! Haku appears to be behind it, but there’s something off about her... This is the final volume of my own kind of dungeon story! It’s one big oyasuminasai!

This started out being a really good series to learn "Dungeonology" management, strategy and creation...then to gain readers and to give them fan-service the publisher asked for bigger boobs, a lot of sexual innuendos and too many gender-changer moments by the main characters...The Web Novel (that came first, was a lot more honest), without half of the side stories being fillers in each of the volumes since Book 3...Without all of the meanlngless side stories, this light novel series probably could have finished in 8 volumes...milking the $. 15++ per book gained them 0ver $. 100 from the original story (8 volumes $120, 17 volumes $.255). It could have been a lot more honest, and a lot more Dungeon Duels and Dungeon Conquests and improvements to the Cave of Greed Dungeon, the auxiliary dungeons and Ally Dungeons as well...
This "last" volume has about 30+ pages more than a regular book, even though the illustrator never included a map of this world, the regions, kingdoms, empires, character summaries etc...
Although this series is better than average, it could have been better. It could have had 50% less filler and been a lot more entertaining and fun to read...filled with Dungeon adventures, Dungeon Duels and travels in another world...
This last book 17 lacks cohesion, common sense, Keima becomes his fem-boy succubus, not to charm anyone or do anything, but to show Watari, that Keima could cross-dress as a gal. Haku the strongest adventurer and Dungeon Core was possesed by a Undead Lich Core 10 that had already been defeated before... Same as with the entire series, this last book could have had a better ending...

A solid ending to a good series. Some good twists, the expected trickery and things are resolved that needed resolving. Not an overly big fan of the epilogue discussion/reveal, but that is more on an emotional level than logic and for its trope it was done reasonably well and in a way that fitted the humour of the story.
