John Lewis Hart, also known as Johnny Hart, was an American cartoonist noted as the creator of the comic strip B.C. and co-creator (with Brant Parker) of the strip The Wizard of Id. Hart was recognized with several awards, including five from the National Cartoonists Society, and the Swedish Adamson Award. In his later years, he sparked controversy by incorporating overtly Christian themes and messages into the strips.

Awful, badly drawn, repetitive, joyless comics. Terrible stuff

Coming out in 1978 with strips from January through early October of 73. A good period in terms of laughs, Hart was in good form as he almost always was.

Hilarious! Jokes like: What goes: whiff-wiff, leap, whiff-wiff, leap, whiff-wiff, leap? Let's see...Ok what? A hurdler in corduroy shorts. Or: What goes: Peck-ek-ek-ek-ek-ek, Peck-ek-ek-ek-ek? I give up. Awoodpecker on a rubber tree. Or Wiley's ditionary: big∙a∙mist n; an Italian's description of his last visit to London.
