Two single thirty-year-olds. One marriage pact. And a night in Vegas that’s about to change everything…

On Christmas Eve eight years ago Evie and Dan made a pact: if they weren’t married by thirty, they were going to marry each other. Of course, neither of them took it seriously, even if Dan has always been mesmerised by Evie’s beautiful smile, and Evie has always fancied D

It was a light and easy read. I was in the mood for something christmassy and this kind of was, because it was set on that time of the year, but didn't have the holidays feeling.

Friends to lovers is not my favorite trope because I never understand how people can be oblivious or pining for someone for such a long time without doing something about it or moving on. Unfortunately, this not being exactly the case with the MCs, after they get married in Vegas, they break up the marriage but you find
From the blurb, I’d initially assumed that ‘The Mistletoe Pact’ was a story about an accidental marriage between 2 drunk (but very compatible) friends who finally realised the error of their ways…and moved forward from that point together.

To my dawning horror, this turned out the opposite as the book went on.

Instead, Evie and Dan moved on from each other after trying to brush off their accidental one-night Vegas marriage with Dan even having a baby with his ex-girlfriend and Evie moving on wit

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Mistletoe Pact definitely gave me those Hallmark Vibes. Mostly because it seems like two friends, who became lovers, took FOREVER and a day to finally become a thing. Of course things got messed up after a little trip down to Vegas... but honestly what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Unless you want to divorce someone? Again, not sure but these two seriously needed to acknowledge their feelings for one another and just

This was such a cute friends to lovers, I liked how it alternated between the past and the now but i felt like it kind of dragged in the middle what with the lack of communication which was frustrating, but other than that, I really enjoyed reading it.

Thank you @netgalley and @bookouture for this ARC in exchange for an honest review💕

I have mixed feelings about this romance...
In fact, the concept is pretty cool: a wedding in Las Vegas between two long-time friends. But in the end, the story is spread out over 1 year where the characters are going to do a cross chase, with each advancing on their own to finally have a real something towards the end of the novel.
The only thing that makes the romance more believable is the fact that they have loved each other almost forever, but in reality, it's not that exploited except for t

I generally have very varied genre interests and among those, romantic comedies have always found their place. What's more, be it in books or movies, I'm a real sucker for Christmassy romantic comedies. You can probably guess why I was totally sold on "The Mistletoe Pact".

Having said all that, I can admit to being totally fine with cheesy stories and romantic novel tropes. Two characters meet, they sort of like each other, things keep happening so they are not actually a couple, but at the very

Great cute book for those that love a good Hallmark movie! The Mistletoe Pact has a cute premise, Evie and Dan make a pact that if they aren't married by the time Evie turns 30, then they will marry each other. Right out of the gate the book moves ahead in time and they actually get married in Vegas! The rest of the book goes back and forth in time, from after the pact to the time after their wedding. The storyline took a different path than I was expecting, so that was nice surprise.

Before I begin with the review, let me ask two questions real quick. Who the hell gets married to someone on a whim just because they got drunk in Vegas and a Chapel is offering its service? And how come their parents never even talk about it to them when they decide to annul said marriage? Like, what in the spoiled White kid's world?

I'm trying really hard to find something positive to say about this book, but I can't find anything at all.

Every year I try to pick up some Christmas books, because why not feel festive and merry in my reading journey? Well, I kind of slacked but I at least managed to pick this one up in late November! The rest of December fell away from me, but I got two books under my belt for the Christmas season!

The Mistletoe Pact was not what I was expecting nor wanting, to be brutally honest. I was kind of disappointed as I thought this would be a lot more fun and romantic, kind of like a Hallmark movie. IT was

I'm having complicated feelings about this but overall I enjoyed it. It's a cute Christmasy story about a drunk Vegas marriage, how the two ended up there and what happens afterward. I was skeptical about the friends-to-lovers trope but I ended up enjoying it nonetheless.

Sometimes it was hard to follow since you jump between timeliness. If every chapter had the timeline mark, it would be so much better. I found myself trying to remember who was dating and what was happening in the chapters I was

As a lover of all things Christmas I was ready to start the colder months with this seasonal read.

Admittedly, the storyline started strong and I enjoyed the fast pace with which the story began, however the pace did taper off quite substantially a few chapters in.

One thing I wasn’t too keen on was that whilst the book was written in two perspectives (which I usually love) they were also both written in third person which I found a bit odd. I also did not take too keenly to Dan, the male main c

The premise sounds really cute but like it’s just sooo slow. I feel like I’ve read 100 pages (it’s only been 45) and I’m already bored??

i tried so hard to get into this book, especially considering how promising the entire premise is, but honestly i really couldn't do it.

the timeline is messy, the plot is so scattered and random, and the writing style was so difficult to get into. usually in romance novels the dual povs tend to help, however in this case it only made everything much more confusing. the timejumps and skips bet
Christmas-themed book cover about a story not so Christmassy.🤷🏻‍♀️

It is the second book I have read by this author, and I think my feelings about this one are very similar to those I had about The First Time We Met.

In this story, we follow Eve and her best friend's older brother Dan. Book starts with them getting married in Vegas and freaking out about it afterward. The story jumps back and forth between events in their past that slowly reveal how they ended up together in Vegas and "today" wher

I was really anticipating reading this book and I decided to wait for the holiday season to start it. It had a lot of potential but in the end I ended up being just a little it disappointed with it. I really liked Evie and Dan as individuals and some of the scenes with them together made me grin like crazy. What I didn't enjoy as much was how slow it got at times and how repetitive and confusing it was. There are alternating timelines and at some points they got extremely confusing and I had no ...more

4.25 stars!

I really enjoyed this one. It’s the second book of Lovett’s that I’ve read and it did not disappoint. I fall in love with the characters of her books so easily. I want to be friends with the female lead (and her friends) and I could see myself falling for the male lead. I love the cover but the male lead’s description did not match his picture AT ALL which threw me for a bit. I liked how the Christmas theme/time weaved it’s way throughout the book. This was a very sweet and fun read!

Evie and Dan make a pact that to marry when she turns 30 if both of them are single by then. This turns out to getting drunkenly married in Vegas. Evie is Dan's sisters bestfriend. A story of friends to lovers.

This book takes us through the past and present story. The slow burn is too slow and this felt long without any reason. Few parts felt a bit more filler. The concept was good but it didn't set will with me because the same thing was going again and again. Why the family never talked about
2.5/5 stars

I have mixed feelings about the book.

We are introduced to Evie and Dan the morning after they got drunkenly married in Vegas. They have been friends for years (mainly because she is his sister's best friend) and it quite obvious that they have feelings for one another. However, both decide annul the marriage. I think that is where the book goes a bit sour for me. It would have been so interesting to see them navigate their marriage, especially since it was all over social media, an

This is an adorable rom com. I loved how easy it was to read and how quickly I was able to get into the story. I thought that Dan and Evie had great chemistry and I could tell from the beginning that they were soulmates even though they could not believe it themselves. Every time they would say that the other did not like them, I wanted to bring them together, sit them down, and tell them that their feelings for each other are there. I hated that they did not take their feelings seriously becaus ...more

what is going on with these holiday novels?! yet again no connection towards the characters or the story

this one actually reminded me a lot of Love, Rosie. they fancy each other but life keeps mismatching their timeline. i really didn't appreciate the OW and OM mentions that kept on happening... it heavily takes the spark out of our MC connection/chemistry - so that'll be a hard NO from me...

thought this one was going to be really cute and romantic because they were already married

The friends to lovers trope has never been my favourite, as I only believe it when a story explains why the characters didn’t give a relationship a chance earlier in time. In the mistletoe pact flashbacks spanning 7 or so years try to tell us why the couple is meant to be together but hasn’t figured it out any sooner.

The characters were likeable and reading this in December I appreciated the many Christmas scenes. Unfortunately, I just could not get on board with the slow burn and the other men

A fun romantic read. Evie and Dan were entertaining main characters and I loved how their friendship remained strong even as their lives moved on from their initial pact.
The flashbacks to different stages of each of their lives were good fun - I especially enjoyed the gatecrashing of the Abba themed wedding. I really enjoyed the relationship Evie had with her mum and felt it was interesting to see how it impacted on how Evie behaved in her own relationships.

Ok it’s been a few years since I had read any Christmas romance and I missed it, so I jumped at the opportunity when I saw this book pass and I don’t regret it at all! The author takes us into a magnificent romantic story over several years, with the double point of view, allowing us to see the events of the past that brought the current situation of the two protagonists. (2.5 ⭐️) If you love a cozy Hallmark holiday movie, this book is just right for you. It’s a quick read to get you in the holiday spirit.

Dan is Evie’s best friend’s brother. Obviously, they can’t be a couple. It breaks so many rules. Right? And then there’s also the fact that Evie’s mom and Dan’s dad have provided crappy role models as to what a relationship should look like.

The book starts off with a bang… a wedding in Vegas between two people who had to let alcohol thrust them towards what th
