My name’s Keima Masuda, and despite the fact I’m aiming for an easygoing life I’m a Dungeon Master, a town chief, and a pope. Goren Town’s busy with a Beddhist wedding ceremony, and now a dragon’s attacking? I feel like this is gonna be one crazy foe...
“My bad, Keima! Seems like my dumb daughter’s giving you trouble!”
It was my neighbor (dungeon)’s daughter, Igni (300 years old). That’s fine, but now there’s a bunch of adventurers coming to town to slay the dragon?! Does that mean I’m not gonna get any rest until the dragon’s gone? This is Volume 9 of my own kind of dungeon story! Time to fight the dragon with a Hero!
Goren Town gets an unexpected visitor when the neighbour's daughter returns home. Her entrance was rather visible, and even though she is not about to harm her father's (only) friend droves of adventurers start visiting the area to defeat a dragon. The number of guests is taking a toll on Keima's quiet life, and action must be taken. A great funny volume with Keima once again trying to solve things through complicated plots and as a result things do not go exactly as planned. Misunderstandings between dragons and humans only complicate matters further. I greatly enjoyed this volume even though some of the naming conventions are a tad lazy (which admittedly is somewhat fitting to the premise) and it is very much a slice-of-life read.
Good story. The prologue made me hope that the main 2 characters would get married and it is foreshadowed that it will happen somewhere in this story arc so somewhere between volume 9 and volume 12. If it gets to a volume 12 they should get married by then.
More I read the come to realize my favorite character has to be Ittetsu, aka 112, aka The Salamander. I just love his personality and interaction with everybody. This volume starts with marriage and ends with a game of life.
This is the first book that Watari the "hero" is illustrated (drawn). Another slow volume, deals with the "rigging of the Dragon conquest" by the adventurer's guild. No improvements to the Cave of Greed Dungeon, no new Dungeons created or battled...The author keeps on repeating the action of the story by changing the point of view. Instead of changing the point of view, the author should have just had more adventures, action, story...
