Beautifully balanced science and fiction. what's not to love in this amazing series. Great characters and a very interestingly developed science fiction premise which maintains its plausibility all through. It raises important questions about life, scientific discovery and ethics. The best part of it for me was the interesting insights into scientific aspects of long distance space travel at sub light speeds and the interweaving of ocean life discovery. We still don't completely understand black

I've listened to scripted audio stories my whole life now. Ever since I was little I listened to several different stories and series (back then on cassettes) and as I grew older those scripted audio series grew with me. I still to this day enjoy them very much. I can still remember what «Die drei Fragezeichen» episode was playing when I was playing with certain toys.
So I knew that I would like this format. Sometimes audiobooks lack a certain, theatricality if you so will. Don't get me wrong, ...more

I am so into this Audible Original podcast of sci-fi with a touch of comedy! I have been rambling a lot about this story! It is simply marvelous! For fans of Interstellar or Ad Astra or any other kind of space opera, this is the story for you!

This was a superb full cast audio complete with sound effects and excellent dialogue. It is also an audible exclusive, written for and only currently available on that platform and it's free as a serialisation. I would have happily paid for this, no doubt.
The story revolved around two crew on a mission centred on a Saturn moon, focused on oceanic exploration, looking for any signs of life. The story took the listener through banter, excitement, tragedy and what was reality and what wasn't. I did ...more

I’m not mentally ready to write down any thoughts related to this book. Thing is, I’m not sure I ever will be. So, I’m gonna suck it up and go for it.
Audible, apparently, has these stories that I can get for free if I’m a member, It’s great because my wife tends to use all the story credits and I’m left with mostly either listening to her library, which leans towards romance or thriller, or I can peruse the fee stuff.

I liked the voice acting and audio effects a lot, but the story really lacked a proper plot.
It was like a rip-off from The Abyss but with a lot less depth and plot twists. Nothing much happens for most of the book. And really sending a team of only 2 without any contingency backup? After having read The Martian and the creativity to find solutions to life threatening situations, this almost felt like a one dimensional comic book read.

The voice actors were great but the actual story is uninspiring. It does not represent the rigid protocols of NASA very well and treats the main character, Bee like a class clown who does not take protocol seriously. You can have a character/personality while simultaneously following the rules. It does not represent female scientists very well and did not do a good job of developing the complex characters of Bee and Ty.

This is a multi-part serial story on Audible, and as best I can tell, that's the only way it's available. It's done as a performance, with different voice actors for each character and sound effects, etc. Sort of like an old-time radio show.
At first I was on the skeptical side because the science (the details of what a space mission would actually be like) were sketchy and didn't seem great. I thought the characters felt a little bit cliched, kind of like an odd-couple setup, the younger, Latina ...more

A book read by a full cast on podcast. It consists of 11 episodes of about 25 minutes each.
A crew of two astronauts travel to one of Saturn’s moons to search for signs of life. Of course there is a disaster and the mission is put in peril.
I enjoyed the action of the story, the interaction between the characters, and times that I wasn’t sure how to interpret what was happening. Some excitement and some mystery add up to a lightweight, fun story presented in a different format.

First time I have listened to an "episodic" type audiobook. The cover is absolutely beautiful and it's honestly the reason why I clicked on the book. I really enjoyed the characters, and the narration was great. It was a decent scifi that held your attention, but the ending was extremely underwhelming.

Not a huge fan of the ending, but I really enjoyed the journey. A good sci-fi romp with a balance of cool space stuff (although they're never actually in space, I think?) and emotion.

Excellent series! Highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys science fiction and space exploration books. I hope the author chooses to write a continuation of this story because I'd love to hear what happens to Bianca and Ty next!

D+ effort. The first couple of episodes were frankly boring to me. There were emotional moments through the series to be sure, but honestly this was a sophomoric and ultimately unsatisfying effort. Other reviews rave about the quality of the recording, but I didn’t feel that way. Sound effects alone do not a good recording make.

It's not often that I consider a book as a favourite, but this was thrown into that list quickly. There are so many things I love about this audiobook. The narration, the music, the story, the feeling it gave me.
The narration is amazing. There's a full cast, but the two main narrators, especially the woman, bring it to life. The back and forth between the two main characters are what really made me love the story. The female narrator is amazing. She is the life of this book. Without her narrati ...more

Superb production quality. Full cast. Background music and special effects. Careful sound design and editing. A creative, masterful blend of audio.
Content very similar to The Martian; it’s almost impossible not to draw similarities. It diverges in key aspects, but the core story lines hold true—being alone for years in a distant planet with little to no hope of rescue.
My favorite scene was the touching duet between the Pisces crew. It was beautiful.

This was an interesting idea. Two astronauts explore the sea on another planet. We hear the dispatches from the astronauts and mission control back home. Things aren't perfect on either side. This 12 episode series could've been done in less. There is a lot of excess filler about the arguments and stories back and forth between the two astronauts. While some is required for character development, the rest was excess. Character wise Specialist Bee would've been washed out in a real world scenario

If you wanna rest in other worlds, far, yet reachable (by humankind and emotionally through the protagonists) then this is the right bit for you. It build up the atmosphere and story really great in relatively short space. The narration and sounds are excellent. Also kind of poetic at the end (yet probably undermining its realism sort of). Personally it reminded me the longing for discovery and science which we should remind ourselves in this age of misinformation (and also how it can be risky,

I would give this book about 3.5 to 3.75 stars for the first half and about 8 for the last half. What a phenomenal ending! I listened to this on audio and I just cried for the last 30-40 minutes. It got to me that much! It didn't start out great for me, but it just kept building and building. I had to listen to parts of it over again because I missed them while totally sobbing. I don't know why It hit me so hard, but I had just come to really love these (basically) 3 characters. Just an amazing

Coming from Audible, the performances were fantastic, the whole cast was excellent. I was interested about the dynamics of two astronauts with highly different upbringings and beliefs exploring one of Saturn’s moons, however the last few chapters took a weird turn and the ending felt unsatisfying.
The audio performance was great (there is a splattering of profanity though), but the story was just ok.

Ambiguity is a really powerful storytelling technique, but I'm not sure it works here. I was so on board with this book for the first three-quarters of it. Something tells me this one will stick with me. I look forward to when Jackson Musker makes another production like this. This genuinely moved me, and felt tense and dynamic. It just didn't quite stick the landing. If it had, this easily would have been a 5/5.
