Hi everyone -- Nora's personal publicist, Laura Reeth, here! Nora's hard at work on her 2022 standalone book so I thought I'd take a moment to pop in and say we can't wait for everyone to get the chance to read Legacy (St. Martin's Press, May 25). When I read it last fall, it felt like the perfect summer read. We follow Adrian Rizzo from the most traumatic moment of her young life to finding what makes her life complete with stops in New York and western Maryland along the way. As always, Nora b ...more
OMG OMG OMG I can't believe what I got......

Tonight is booked, I already started it - lol.

As always Nora Roberts knows how to write a captivating romance with an ensnaring dose of suspense. It’s almost a given that her books are page turners. And books I’ll drop everything to read.

I also love how trendy her books have become. The author goes with the times, her heroines are strong, savvy, smart, and accomplished. And I really enjoyed the fitness elements, and t

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. I was so excited for an opportunity to be an ARC reader of a Nora Roberts book. I love Nora Roberts books. Which is why it pains me to give this one a negative review.

Why? Well, a few reasons (semi-spoilers below).

1. I really disliked the main character. Adrian is painted as career-driven and head-strong and both of those are great qualities in a character, but the way she forced her fitness and nutri
Adrian Rizzo’s life as she knew it changed when she was seven years old and met her father for the first and last time. It was a violent and pivotal moment that shaped her future. Her mother, Lina, had a successful and thriving fitness business that became even more high profile after this event and she left Adrian with her parents for the summer to heal. There she created lifelong relationships that would become even more meaningful for the rest of her life. When Adrian started her own fitness ...more
A good story and told very well.

Roberts is a master of character building, and this book shows it very well. More than typical contemporary romance or romantic suspense, it is the story of Adrian and Raylan. Both their separate stories and their later, slowly developing relationship. Roberts masterfully builds their characters by showing us the various events in their lives that shaped them and finally brought them to where they are now.

Roberts is also a master of creating strong women and men w

Thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown/ Piatkus for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

It’s been quite a few years since I’ve read a Nora Roberts standalone, so coming into Legacy I was expecting something quite different from what I ended up getting. Going by the synopsis I thought this would be a thrilling romantic suspense novel but, imo, it was neither especially romantic or suspenseful. The first few chapters were quite good, but soon the plot starts to drag endlessly, gettin

A slow build story that drips the clues and the menacing message to come.
This book is a beautiful blend of several different genres. For one it is a family saga of sorts. A beautifully crafted story of a family thrown into the limelight.

It’s a story of lightness and darkness. It’s a story of choices and finding your place in the world. It’s also a story of commitment and the love of family; the support of family and friendship that spans decades.

But underneath all of that

3.5 stars - This felt like a lovely return to form in terms of hitting the romantic suspense beats that I expect from La Nora's annual standalone thriller release. I really loved the found family aspects of this one and how cozy the small town felt. For those who love this kind of story from this author, I think you will be please. The things that dinged this down a bit for me tie back to the heroine's profession. If this had been more in the background, I probably wouldn't have let it bother me ...more

The struggle was real this time. I was bored and kept looking for something, anything, to keep me excited about NR’s new book … nope. Maybe it was because it has been raining here for the last 2 weeks straight and naps came easy for me even while reading. LOL

Adrian Rizzo was destined for greatness. After all, her mother Lina was a fitness icon. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Adrian forms her own alliance consisting of video and tech-nerdish high school classmates. Together, they develop a their own fitness brand and exercise DVDs that rivals that of Adrian’s mother.

Meanwhile, there are dark forces at work threatening to undermine Adrian’s brand as well as her life. Who could be behind the threatening letters disguised as poetry?

Legacy is a novel by best-selling American author, Nora Roberts. Adrian Rizzo has grown up fatherless: for her first seven years, her father was unaware he had a daughter; when, at seven, her relationship to him was leaked to the press, he died during a violent assault on her mother, after he had attacked Adrian.

But Adrian has never felt the lack of him: her mother may be busy building a career and business, but she has always had her nanny, Mimi, and loving grandparents, Dom and Sophia. I
Nora Roberts used to be a go to author for me but I have not read one of her books in years. This story was a little hard for me to review because it is mostly just a long winded story of Adrian Rizzo and her life starting as a child. Growing up, her family consisting of her mom, Lina, her Rizzo grandparents, her nanny, Mimi, and her mom's publicist/manager, Harry. Her biological father was a married professor whom her mother had an affair with while a student. He was killed when she was a young ...more

**SIGH** I’m not really sure how to rate or review this book. It definitely wasn’t what I’d hoped for or expected. And maybe that’s the problem, I set myself up for disappointment.

I find that 3rd person POV is difficult for me to enjoy. While reading, I tend to feel like the story is being told to me as opposed to being shared with me. Tommy did this, Sarah said that... doesn’t engage me. There were moments in the story where I was drawn in, but this was a long book, so those moments felt few a

I confess I do like Nora Roberts :O)

She has the knack of writing characters you can’t help but care for, and Legacy is another great example. In this instance, the suspense and thriller elements stay in the background for most of the narrative, darting here and there, until the big finale. The real focus of the story is instead the lives of Adrian and Raylan, their own journey of self-discovery, of finding their inner core and happiness in the face of adversity. The romance aspect is very light

Thanks to Netgalley for letting me be one of the first thousand people to get an ARC! I was excited to read something by such an eminent writer, but…This was not my cup of tea. I gave it until about fifteen percent in to get better, and was disappointed. I am well aware I’m in the minority on this, but this is not a rare occurrence for me!

I liked the premise of Legacy a lot; single mother, making her own career after killing the abusive father of her daughter. She’s a fitness expert and makes
I don’t want to age myself or her, but I’ve been a fan of Ms. Roberts for many years. I was very excited for the opportunity to read this book. I was mesmerized from the beginning. That summer forms the basis of Adrian’s life going forward. Living with an absent mother who runs a successful and growing business is hard on Adr ...more

I have heard great things about Nora Roberts, but this was my first book written by her, and I listened to the audiobook narrated by January LeVoy.
This was a solid 3 star from me, the main appeal was definitely LeVoy's narration. She was superb, changing her voice brilliantly for the different characters and the maturing voice of Adrian. I loved listening to her.
The plot however, was lacking. I was expecting more of a thriller and ended up with more of a family drama. It was slow paced and very
Adrian was raised by her mother Lina who owns the Billion-dollar Baby Yoga empire. Selling DVDs and streaming videos online, they also had their own yoga clothing business too. She never knew her father until she was seven when he tried to kill her mother.
When Adrian is a teenager in school, she starts her own yoga business with some friends. It becomes very lucrative. But someone is jealous and starts sending poems that are death threats to her. She reports them to the police, but they just fil

Thank you to St. Martin's Press for my review copy.
Nora, Nora, Nora. I I love you. You are always a sweet reminder of young Amy becoming a reader. There is always something to be said about nostalgia in reading. Legacy was reminiscent of the early Nora Roberts....which is a win for me.
This is a stand alone novel and I really enjoyed it. The characters were phenomenal. I loved the tribe that Adrian had built. Just warm, lovely feelings. The mystery was a smidge did not however
Well, this was the most delicious slow burn that has ever existed.

I loved Adrian. She’s smart and motivated and strong as hell. I loved her loyalty to her friends and family and the bond they all had together. Raylan is charming and driven and a grounded. Together they have a great history and I loved reading their relationship progress. Plus there are two of the sweetest dogs ever.

Plot wise, it was so good. The suspense wasn’t as tension filled as I expected, but I loved the storyline and how

I felt like author used many of her old plots in this story; mixed, rewrote them a little, then published it as her newest story. I am on the fence with this book. I am a big fan of Nora Roberts titles but this one tries too hard to be a thriller and a romance. I really liked the beginning -Adrian, the main character, a seven year old witnesses her mother killing a man who comes to attack her. The man ends up being Adrian's estranged biological father she had never met-she was illegitimate and the psycho father felt Adrian had ruined his life by being born through an affair he had with Adrian's mother Lina. I haven't read much Nora Roberts (under that name), although I've read quite a bit of her "In Death" series, so I was excited and kind of wondering what to expect when netgalley gave me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book.
The story spans a lot of years - from Adrian's childhood to her life as an adult, and I loved all the parts. She is a strong character with strong opinions and a great desire to succeed. I loved her grandparents, her dog, and her friends - and I loved watching

Adrian is seven years old when the story begins. She learns that she was the product of an affair her mother Lina had with her married college professor. Lina is a successful fitness guru who spends more time on her career than parenting. Adrian’s loving grandparents serve as surrogate parents making their small community in the Maryland mountains her true home. Adrian enjoyed going to work with her mother, appearing in her videos and learning enough to model her career after her mother’s. As Ad ...more

Even though I found it a bit formulaic, the latest release from Nora Roberts still projects strong lead characters (Raylan, a comic artist and widower with two young children and Adrian Rizzo, a fitness guru) in an interesting and heartwarming plot that never reached boredom. Overall, it was a good read filled with family, ambition, vengeance, romance and suspense. Quick pacing, along with diversity and variety kept it from avoiding the doldrums.

A lot of dance, but not much romance. A 17-year old stalking mystery with threatening 4-line poems. A school shooting that frees up the hero is very tragic. Cute kids and dogs. Nora has really done her homework about video production and graphic novels. At the half-way point, the heroine and hero have yet to connect on a romantic level. This is more a Women's Fiction book than either a Romance or a Romantic Suspense. I knew who the baddie was right from the beginning, Nora did a really bad job w ...more

I loved this book so much!
It’s Nora’s mark in every great contemporary romance story, full of characters that grow so much while weaving the tides of life from young adult to a few ago until the present day when they found each other and their romance blooms in spades but not without a killer twist.
So many feelings and emotions, so much friendship and family and what each one of them wants from life and their goals and how they can get there.
I , personally enjoyed Adrian’s relations

When it comes to romantic suspense, I can always count on Nora Roberts to deliver and this latest one is no exception. While I have enjoyed her earlier series and trilogies, it is her stand-alone romantic suspense novels that I keep coming back to year after year.

One thing that I love about Nora Roberts is how timely her books tend to be. This latest one tackles so many topics that are hot button topics and yet it all blends toget

Author Nora Roberts sticks to what she does best—delivering romance and thrills aplenty in her latest, LEGACY.

But it’s her father that falls to his death on the day that would forever change everything.
