Rate this book
A seer, a scryer, a waterwitch faces an unfathomable foe—a man full of fury and fire who seeks to destroy her and her adopted city, Devor. With only her tools to guide her, she journeys to save Devor and discovers her past is the secret to her present, and the future is full of dangers and surprises even this gifted soothsayer cannot foresee. Whether she is successful depends on factors beyond her control and on people she’s not sure she can trust. She is the lady-in-white, the Oracle of Devor.

A healer by day and a writer by night, Monica McDowell is a minister who has meditated for countless hours on the virtues of chai lattes & chocolate. She has the distinction of being the first ordained minister in the United States granted civil rights by a federal appellate court. Her first book, "My Karma Ran Over My Dogma" (2007), is a narrative of her journey through these precedent-setting legal events into life-changing mysticism and a luminous spirituality. Her second book, "You are Light" (O-Books, 2011) is a healing meditation workbook to help you have all the love, joy, and peace you desire and was published in over 14 countries worldwide. "Confessions of a Mystic Soccer Mom", her third book was published in 2012 (Synclectic) and picks up where "My Karma" left off. Her first fiction, "The Girl with a Gift" (Earth Words Press, 2015) received an Earth Monastery Grant award from Abbey of the Arts. She is also the author of "The Wizard's Toy"--a fable, and "Healing Cancer Consciousness." Her most recent book is The Oracle of Devor.

Monica earned her Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and graduated summa cum laude as co-valedictorian from Seattle Pacific University. She has worked as a minister, chaplain, and as the founding director for Women's Sanctuary, offering inter-faith, inter-spirituality gatherings for women. A dynamic speaker, inspirational author, and extraordinary practitioner in mind/body/spirit/energy wellness, Monica regularly holds workshops, classes, and retreats for budding mystics and emergent healers and maintains a private practice in energy healing.
