What Is Wrong With Twitter

Rate this book
What Is Wrong With Twitter is the completely new sequel to the Amazon Bestseller, Twitter Surviving Change ...a quick-read handbook packed with solid information on the New Twitter (released in July). The author introduces you to the new desktop interface with tweaks that make navigation faster; you will also learn how your Settings and Privacy options have changed, how to check them and make informed choices for your data sharing, and why you should do this first on Twitter.

This compact guide also includes important information on Twitter's new Rules (pronounced by the company as "human readable" this time), how to find and join "healthy conversations", steps to take if "something seems to be wrong" with your account or your platform experience in general, in addition to strategies and tactics for writers planning to sell their books on their streams, for promoters of products who can easily run afoul of the new spam rules (this time the Rules include examples, a tremendous improvement!).

Twitter's expanded Analytics are also covered, always a great -- and still "free" -- source of information to gauge a tweet's effectiveness (or not) on the platform; these can quickly become indispensable to businesses operating on Twitter. We were excited to find the addition of video analytics, which seems to be gaining in popularity across Twitter.

There is also information included on the new issues facing international businesses on the platform as a result of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the European Union Copyright Directive (EUCD). Resources for further reading on social media issues are appended.

What Is Wrong With Twitter is for anyone on Twitter, if you've been there an hour or a decade like ourselves...The book is easily readable, crafted for the non-techie, not cluttered with impossible-to-understand jargon; explanations and references are also included to reinforce understanding.

Twitter is a massive, evolving platform with so many diverse avenues to explore; it's not unexpected to run across issues in your account. Instead of giving up in frustration (as we once did many years ago), let this book guide you towards locating an answer to a problem as quickly as possible and getting back on track.

What Is Wrong With Twitter is a stand-alone eBook; it is not necessary to have read our first eBook, Twitter Surviving Change.

"What Is Wrong With Twitter is a must read for anyone attempting to navigate through the minefields and psychological warfare on social media today!" Rhonda Lord, Former Actor and Twitterphobe

“We all make mistakes, but social media can frame those mistakes and display them infinitely.” What a profound way of starting this book about one of the biggest social media platforms there is today. Twitter recently changed its platform and the author gives us insights in how those changes will affect us as the user. Also, the author (who may or may not be a troll) may seem like a comrade in arms if some of the scenarios he describes where Twitter failed to do various things, seem familiar to you. Covering topics such as the appearance, new rules, privacy settings (and concerns), and maybe one of the creepiest topics for me: Identity interactions. Boy that chapter made me want to throw out all of my social media accounts.
Written with humor, facts, interspersed with cites and article links, this was a fantastic book to read and gain an insight and eye-opening to what is going on with Twitter. I don’t spend too much time on that platform, but my husband does and I’ve heard some stories of things going wrong and generally being aggravating.

Has the twitter you knew changed so much you feel you have lost your first love? Kurt Seapoint wrote What Is Wrong With Twitter a month after the new platform came out. He takes a critical look at what the benefits are now compared to what we had been before the changes. But he also made a crucial discovery over what is being posted and the atmosphere that hovers over one of our favorite social media outlooks.

I felt Kurt Seapoint is spot-on with the negative vibes that permeate twitter’s feed. What Is Wrong With Twitter explains how so much pessimistic attacks on your feed can be very depressing and that isn’t why you started using twitter to begin with. He gives an impressive insight to how useful a business would run using twitter and tips you should remember when advertising. This is a useful book to navigate one of our favorite social medias, twitter.

Very helpful, full of great tips!

Full disclosure before I even start…. I rarely use Twitter but I found this book to be really enlightening. Some of my jobs require me to use the Twitter platform sometimes or at least view certain aspects of Twitter so this book will come in handy for those instances. Since I pretty much only use Twitter when my job requires it I sometimes end up fumbling through what I need to get done and it’s not always done in as timely of a fashion as I or my employers would like to see. So I’m kind of excited to try some of the tips and tricks the book enlightened me to that will make my job much easier and help me work more efficiently. I may even recommend twitter to one of the companies I work for when we start expanding our customer base this winter now that I’ve gained more confidence in my Twitter skills!

If You’re Really into Twitter, Read this Book

I will admit that I find myself surprised at all this book contains. I have been a member of Twitter for a couple of years, but I've only used it sporadically. This book reveals a world of tweetdom that I had no idea existed. If you want to use the platform to your best advantage, you might find this book, which details both recent changes in Twitter and how to best leverage the platform while staying compliant and community friendly, a helpful and engrossing read.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
