Rate this book
The Fernwood Valley Fuzzies have a baseball game set with the undefeated and impeccable Geartown Clankees. The Clankees perform like well-oiled machines…mainly because they are robots in disguise just wanting to fit in and feel the love of good sportsmanship deep inside their gears. It’s a battle of bolts, brawn, and stamina as the Fuzzies must keep up with their robotic counterparts if they are to win the game. With their rookie, Blossom Honey Possum, benched due to her fear of robots and their hitter, Walter Wombat, determined to win at any costs, the Fuzzies are up for the fight of their lives. Forget about 7 inning stretch, try 38 inning stretch! Play ball!

The characters themselves were commenting on the match being boring, and unfortunately it was. I also wasn't a fan of the fact that the sweet MC spent most of the story screaming 'Robots!' and refusing to play with them, and then we weren't really shown her overcoming her prejudice, at least not in a satisfying way. We saw the robots being nice to her, but not the other way. Even her other teammates kept making comments about it being weird to play with them. It would have been nice instead for the whole animal team come to see that baseball can be for anyone and everyone, and that they can enjoy sharing their sport even with robots.
So, what felt like a good opportunity to talk about good sportsmanship and including others, just seemed wasted.
The artwork is fantastic still and I like that kids can read this, but I think it will likely be too boring for them and lacking a really positive message.

This was the third book is a graphic novel series for kids. I did not read the first two but I don't think you need to. Not sure kids will get the references but the baseball players had names similar to famous baseball players (this is mentioned at the end of the boo). The art is fine as is the writing, I liked that they broke the fourth wall and had some of the characters talk to the reader. There is enough baseball terminology and references that I think this will appeal more to baseball fans. A fun, quick read. #Netgalley

‘Fuzzy Baseball 3: R.B.I. Robots' with story and art by John Steven Gurney is a graphic novel about a team of scrappy animals who play baseball.

This time around the Fernwood Valley Fuzzies face off against the Geartown Clankees, but all is not as it first appears. It turns out the Fuzzies are playing against a team of robots. The robots agree to play fair, but that doesn't stop the Fuzzies from trying a few tricks to help win the game.

This is a great series and I love the creativity of the opponents and the player names. Young sports fans should enjoy this series.

It was too long, both my sons lost interest halfway through. It wasn't very witty and unfortunately, the baseball lingo became boring for them. The animation was cute though, and the cover was eyecatching. Wishing the best for the book, unfortunately, it just wasn't our cup of tea.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the free ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Adorable baseball series that deals with having fun and a message to go with the flow of puns, fun and lots of goofy. Hammy Sosa (a Fuzzie) breaks the fourth wall a few times, and we even learn a little Italian.

This is the third book in the series. It is not necessary to read the first two to enjoy this one. The target audience for this graphic novel, in my opinion, is someone who has an interest in baseball. This is a quick, fun read with beautiful graphics and a good story line. The story is interesting as well as thought provoking. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.
