A week after I signed up to be on the Dream Big launch team, my wife and I quit our jobs and moved across the country to pursue an adventure. Her job would allow her to take short-term contracts—three to six months—in various cities and we were going to travel the country for a couple of years. It’s been our big dream for a couple of years and had been interrupted by the surprise adoption of our daughter.

Less money.
Less stability.
More uncertainty.
More adventure.

I love Bob, and getting to spend time with him in a new book is a treat and frankly has been good for my mental, emotional, and spiritual health - all of which are strained and suffering in these dangerous days.

Still, I can't shake the feeling that Dream Big is the result of it "being time" for the next book, so Bob just did the best he could considering. The results feel rushed, vague, stories are not deeply relevant, analogies can demand a leap in logic. Yet occassionally, as he always does,

I did like this book. I found Mr. Goff's writing and the way he talked to be soothing and easy going. It was like listening to a friend talk. Which made reading this book enjoyable.

Although, I do get the points that Bob made were great. I did feel like there were some repetitiveness throughout this book. Which made the book feel that much shorter and this book was already a short book. Yet, the advice that Bob gives and the situations that he gives examples of are relatable. Any reader who read

Wowsers. I think I highlighted half of this book. That's how good it was. So good that I both listened to the audiobook AND read the ebook. This guy has so much audacity, but not so much that he annoys me. (I'm looking at you, Gary V.) No, Bob Goff has the kind of audacity that is contagious. The kind that makes you want to run after the biggest ambitions that you've had, make them happen, and reach for the stars...or further. Not in an unrealistic way. Actually, he does a fabulous job of laying ...more

This is one of the best books that I have read for encouragement, no matter what stage of life you are in. With his signature anecdotes and humor, Bob Goff encourages people to use where you are now as a launching pad for where you really want to be. The book is filled with quotable insight and wisdom about how to go about figuring out what direction to go in and how to get where you want to go. I enjoyed the personal anecdotes and the view into the author’s own life and his struggles. I especia ...more

Hard to really find the words to describe how incredible this book is. I feel like I’ve just finished having a heart to heart conversation about ambition, dreams and desires with someone I’ve known all my life. Those people are rare in life and even more rare for that to be expressed through a book. Would highly recommend for anyone, at any point in their life. So much to consider and so much more to do!

Dream Big by Bob Goff is the perfect book to help you take that next step to not only pursuing your dreams, but to make a difference in this world. He reminds us that life isn’t just about making money but making life matter. And that our brokenness can be the path to others healing.

We listened to Goff's first 2 books as a family and loved them. This one seemed like it was aimed more toward someone who has a dream they've never had the courage to act upon. It reminded me a lot of Jon Acuff's books. Which are great! But didn't feel relevant to our lives right now, as we feel like we are where God has called us to be, so we don't really need a shove in a new direction. ...more

Nate got this for me as gift. He wanted me to take time to recognize my dreams and commit to them. Lots of take aways. I’ll probably need to reread at some point!

bob goff is a VERY different person than i am.
while we share the same worldview, he is Way more outgoing and WAY more adventurous than i am.
i almost wish he'd written this book for his wife "sweet maria"-- letting us "normal" people who are okay with a "quiet life" know how to keep moving forward.

lots of good advice and easy-reading storytelling.
even if a lot of the escapades are pretty outlandish compared to my daily routine of solitude in my art studio.

glad i read it, but my brain still spins

At first, the book felt a bit too long and I felt like skipping over to the "good parts". However, I am glad I stuck it out - in fact, the author urges readers not to do this! The rest of the book contains excellent, practical advice. Anyone who feels frustrated with life and unable to capitalize on their full potential will love this book! If you want to pivot careers, or just find your calling but are scared of risks, this book is a great find; you will find great actionable advice. ...more

“This is not a self-help book” – Every self help book.

Goff is incredibly encouraging, and quite possibly sincere, despite seeming over the top, and unnecessarily whimsical. The main complaint that I have is the absence of Christ in a book purported to be by a strong Christian. The issue I see is this, and “Dream”, no matter how “Big” is ultimately entirely baseless unless its foundation is Christ. Goff knows this, so its astounding to me how he leaves it out. He instead tells his audience t

We are all passionate about something. We all have dreams and aspirations. But maybe long ago, or even in the recent past, the dreams and goals you’ve longed to achieve have been put on the back burner or have even been forgotten about.

In Bob Goff’s “Dream Big”, he encourages the reader to identify forgotten dreams and aspirations and gives tools to attain them.

Bob poses three questions: Who are you? Where are you? And what do you want? While reading and thinking on these questions, I quickly

Great read! I felt that this was another wonderful book to add to my Toolbox if you will. I feel like you read the book, take the time, invest the time in yourself and then pull what works for you out, then put it into play.

We tend to run on routines, putting our dreams, plans, ideas on a back burner until well, who knows? Good intentions, you know the drill. You have to make time for you. Address what you feel in your heart, what tugs at you, what calls to you and excites you. And this book he

I wish I could’ve read this book a year or two earlier in my life. Not only did it help me discover some of my dreams and ambitions and how to pursue them but it also taught me a lot about myself; it helped me discover how I process my feelings and emotions, what I need to do to free myself of negativity and distractions, and how to get out of my own head. As I read this book I found new and more purposes for my life as well as what I put my worth into. This book has helped shape how I plan to l ...more

Do you know who you are, what you want and why you want it? These are three questions I’ve been exploring about myself after being selected to join the launch team for Bob Goff’s new book, Dream Big.

It’s the kind of conversation I tend to put off having with myself until I feel like the time is right. But when something disrupts my routine like this pandemic has, I’m more inclined to reflect and adjust my focus.

Through the delightful and whimsical writing style of Bob Goff, Dream Big challenges you to reflect on three vital questions – “Know what you want, why you want it, and what you’re going to do about it.” Similar to Bob’s previous books, Dream Big is filled with stories and thoughts that touch so close to the heart that you will need to stock up on boxes of tissues, highlighters, and more copies of Dream Big to share with family and friends. Even though this book has incredible stories that will ...more

This was my first read by Bob Goff and I know I will be returning to this book often. He was funny, insightful, easy to listen to, and several chapters were very impactful to me when I didn’t know I needed them.

Overall the goal of this book is for you to decide what you want to do, big or small, although from the title big is preferred, and he give you tips on how to help you start getting there. That is simplifying it a lot, as there is so much more to this that Goff details as you go through y
I really like Bob Goff despite the fact that he's the kind of author that usually annoys me and I tend to read his books when they come out despite the fact that I hate books of this type and popularity. This is Bob Goff's third book and is probably the most normal. The first book was a collection of manic somewhat unbelievable stories, the second one was a collection of much more normal stories, and this one is more of a self-improvement book. It's still weird and manic though. He gives advice ...more

Dream Big is an easy to read and conversational self-help book about pursuing your dreams, finding your purpose, and making a difference. I always enjoy reading Bob Goff because he makes the read so personable and friendly. His advice is practical and full of wisdom.

I like that his use of examples are relatable and can easily be incorporated in our daily lives. He isn’t pushy or insensitive. As I was reading his words, I could feel his passion for wanting to help others. Bob has experienced alot

I'm not 100% finished quite yet, but where I'm at so far has delivered on what makes Bob Goff's books so great:

Bob's charming and charismatic personality leaps off the page.

This is my third Bob Goff book, but my first audiobook, and I have to say, I LOVED hearing him read his own words. I feel like all of his books are a warm hug and an inspiration to just DO BETTER and LOVE MORE, and this book was similar in that vein. I'm not sure it was actually a goal-setting book as it purports to be but at the same time, my narrow view of goal setting has been a little bit expanded after reading (listening to) this. Nothing in this book was entirely new, though: it's all been ...more

Feeling stuck?? Unsure of what your next step in life is? Or, maybe you know what you want to do, but you just can't muster the courage to do it? Maybe you simply don't know how to move forward? Or maybe, fear is stopping you from pursuing your dream?

Bob Goff's book allows you to not only discover what your deepest and wildest dreams are for your life (trust me, you have some!!), but he also outlines a practical framework on how to move forward once you identify them -- enabling you to take your

I really love Bob, his stories, and how he connects everything to Jesus and never settling. We are capable of so much in our short lives here on earth, so what am I going to do to make my days bigger and better? Bob always comes through on inspiring me to push toward my goals i think are impossible and reminds me to connect these goals to Jesus.

Although I’m feeling motivated from this read, I do think this book is a little repetitive based on his previous books Love Does and Everybody Always. I

Bob Goff does it again. Who are you, where are you and what do you want? Through those three questions, Bob helps us discover the big dreams inside of us and take the steps towards making those our reality. My favorite part about the book is that it isn't promoting dreaming big for the sake of simply accomplishing more, but rather it encourages us to chase after our big God-given dreams to live a life that is full of growth and impact instead of living in fear of failure. I don't typically consider myself a faith-based person, but there is so much to like about Bob Goff. His anecdotal style and caring personality make it seem like he is speaking directly to you, and genuinely wants to help you. I hope I keep working for the kind of life Bob has, and says that I can have, because it seems like he has a rich, fulfilling existence focused to a large degree on others.
