Interesting thriller with Pike and his team tracked by killers until the bad guys get theirs. 7 of 10 stars
HUNTER KILLER is a thrill-a-minute non-stop action thriller concerning a special ops team. This is the best Pike Logan novel I've read so far. The Russians are up to their usual dirty tricks again. This time their target is in Brazil. The story begins in Charleston, SC when someone is murdered. I highly recommend this novel; you will love this!

Another great thriller in the Pike Logan series! This book not only features tough female operatives like Jennifer (who is sometimes conflicted and operates like Pike's conscience) and Shoshana but also interesting newer characters and victims-who-aren't like Willow, Amena, and Kylie.

The setting--Russians trying to take over a Brazilian oil field via a series of executions--is credible and a refreshing change of pace.

Highly recommended!

I was fortunate enough to get an ARC of HUNTER KILLER at a writing conference. I'm a huge fan of Brad's Pike Logan series, and this is his best book yet. Many authors start to slow down after 14 novels, but not Brad. The pacing in this book is relentless, and the tension will tie your stomach into knots. I couldn't put it down. If you love the Pike Logan series, you'll love this book. If you're new to Brad's novels, this book will make you a fan.

Major change within Taskforce in book #14. There's also a big step in character development.

Hunter Killer is full of action right from the start and Pike found himself being a target right at home in Charleston as the 'family' enjoy downtime. Storyline lightly follows current headlines with Russia trying to manipulate Brazil election as well as placing who they can influence as board of Petrobras, energy-oil company in Brazil.

To kill or not to kill, that is the question. If you read the book,

Really not much to say here. Another outstanding thriller from Brad Taylor that continued from the excellent "Daughter of War," as the Taskforce takes on Russia's Wagner Group mercenaries in Brazil and Pike is at his most intense since he was first introduced in "One Rough Man." If you enjoyed the previous books, you will surely enjoy this one, and this is also a good jumping on point if you haven't read previous books. Taylor also throws in a few surprises to shake up the status quo of the ...more

This is a story of love, family and values. Oh, and action quite a lot of action. Thanks to Edelweiss and William Morrow for letting me read this one. This is one of the better books in the series about Pike Logan and his merry band of marauders. I strongly recommend any one that hasn't tried it to do so.

Absolutely epic! We lost one amazing character, but it gave you one hell of a setup. The team is separated and one stand down, yet the manage to accomplish the impossible and all while being hunted down themselves. I can’t wait to see where the next book goes!

I am a fan of thrillers involving "secret ops" which is why I gave Brad Taylor's Pike Logan series a second try. I am happy to report I felt that Hunter Killer has changed my view of the Pike Logan series allowing me to give the book a four star rating, from a previous three star rating. I was pleased that the author has cut down on his wordiness and Shoshana, the character I could not stand, has matured to a

Deportation! Immigration! Manipulation of Elections! War Zones! Russian Involvement in Elections!
This is like our current nightmare with future ramifications coming upon us all quicker than we have hoped.
Look you can do one of two things : Turn the other cheek or fight for your loved ones and your rights!
In this case, we have Pike Logan who lost his best friend and partner/mentor right in front of him from a car explosion.
Pike took that pain and internalized the pressure until he himself was
The 14th in the Pike Logan Taskforce series...a lot of focus on character development after an attempt on Pike ends in the death of a dear friend...As usual, Logan and his gang of loyalists chafe under the bureaucratic restrictions of Washington DC and punch out on their own...This time to prevent Russian election interference in Brazil...The usual good stuff!!!

I gave this a three star because it was perhaps too real. Taylor has Special Forces experience and it shows. The dialogue between colleagues was hard to follow sometimes because of this. Nonetheless, I will read more of his. Maybe I just need more exposure. I really like his dealing with "the beast". That's the deep pit the operator falls in and becomes a killer rather than a hunter. This, in my experience, is unique. Mystery & Thriller
It will come as no surprise to anyone who has even a passing familiarity with Brad Taylor’s work that his new Pike Logan thriller is a blistering, explosive read. Taylor is approaching the end of his first decade as an author, and over the course of the previous 10 years, he has given the world 14 novels and several short stories chronicling missions of Pike and the Taskforce, a highly illegal team of counter-terrorists who blessedly function without Congressional oversight or media scrutiny. ...more

This is the third Pike Logan book I’ve read, the second being the excellent Daughter of War which introduced Amena, the young Syrian refugee whom is now under the guardianship of Pike Logan. I initially thought this was the follow-up to Daughter of War, but Brad Taylor squeezed in a mini novel between Pike Logan #13 and Pike Logan #14. Nevertheless it did not diminish the enjoyment of this fast paced

Another top notch thriller from Brad Taylor. This time Pike, Jennifer, Aaron and Shoshana fine themselves in Brazil trying to figure out why there are an inordinate amount of Russians running around the country. They suspect, and later find out that they are in the county to do a hit. Thing is don't know why and who they are to hit. As it turns out these Russians and members of Wagner, a para military contractor out of Russia. They are tasked with assassinating several Brazilian leading ...more

First I wish to thank the author (one of my favorites) and the publisher for hosting the goodreads giveaway from which I received this book. Second, I wish to apologize for the delay in reading this book. I have replaced a great deal of my reading via audio books due to recent health issues; but, I did it, so, here goes the review.

This is a Pike Logan thriller. Pike, with his taskforce are unsurpassed hunting machines; but in this thriller, Logan and team seem to have met their match! Pike and

This was amazing! Pike and Jennifer are battling all kinds of demons in this one. There is a ton of internal dialogue and drama within the GRS team while seeing the fighting capacity of everyone around them. I really believe that Brad nailed this one because of his relentless research and experience this felt so real. He’s used real world problems, locations, and his ties to Charleston make it authentic since I’ve visited a bunch of the places mentioned. He’s a New York Times bestselling author ...more

Three and a half stars. Standard Pike Logan thriller. Starts off well and has some great scenes but goes on way too long and adds silly splashed straight out of a 70s Roger Moore Bond movie (piranhas, exploding dro es, gymkata).

This is the 14th book in Brad Taylor’s Pike Logan series (although only the second I have read). Pike Logan leads Grolier Recovery Services, a front for a secretive government group known as the Taskforce. GRS handles operations that cannot be known to be associated with the government or its agencies. When the head of Taskforce, Kurt Hale, is killed when a bomb explodes while he is starting Logan’s car, it is clear that the target was Pike. The senior officials order all Taskforce operations ...more

Of course it was great it's a Pike Logan book! I believe the last time I wrote a review for Pike was #12 and had boasted about the growing presence of Aaron and Shoshana. Well that has grown in 13 and 14 and with each new story I like them more and more. In a smaller yet equally important role is the little Bad Ass we met in Daughter of War, Amena. I see all sorts of possibilities for her in the future and I think Brad Taylor is teeing her up for just that.

Admittedly, nothing about
