Orphan Black meets the post-apocalyptic Avengers in the vein of Ilona Andrews’ Hidden Legacy series by USA Today and New York Times bestselling author duo Kit Rocha

The United States went belly up 45 years ago when our power grid was wiped out. Too few live in well-protected isolation while the rest of us scrape by on the margins. The only thing that matters is survival. By

Wow, I cannot believe that it's been two years since I've read the last Kit Rocha book.

To be honest, I had a bit of a hard time with this book. The idea is good. It's set in the same post-apo/dystopian world as the Beyond series. But except for the Flares, there is very little in common. It takes place in a different part of America, and I could not find any direct reference to the previous series.

More ingenious, smart, sexy, funny, intricately-plotted goodness from Kit Rocha. I was intrigued from the day they announced this series by the entire premise of Mercenary Librarians and this book 100% did not disappoint. With more twists and turns than a thing that is really twisty and turny (lookit me trying to review before I've had enough caffeine), I can't really say much without EPIC SPOILERS, so I'll just say that if you're a fan of Gideon's Riders or the Beyond series, you will probably ...more

I loved every single page of this book. The mission that Nina and her sisters have to put books in peoples hands. The mission that Knox and his men go on and how it changes everything for them. This is a book that you need to have on your TBR pile.

Having some familiarity with Kit Rocha's Beyond series is what led me to discovering this new title, but what demanded my attention from it was the Mercenary Librarians series name! As a Librarian, I found this to be super intriguing and since I knew Ms. Rocha writes excellent and unique post-apocalyptic romance it stuck in my head. I had to stop reading another novel to starts this one, I couldn't get it out of my head! And I was not disappointed!

One of my most anticipated books for 2020 and I wasn't disappointed! It had everything I wanted: intriguing characters with interesting backgrounds, fun and witty banter, cool actiony things! this book and series would make such a good netflix series or movies! I can picture all the badassary up on a screen.

I won't say anything spoilery cuz we still got a way to go before this one comes out but I love ladies who can kick ass and our Mercenary Librarians are just that! Knox and his team were not

Book one in this new series by Kit Rocha seemed a little disjointed and didn't really read like a Kit Rocha book, but more like Moira Rogers. Book one in a new series typically sets up the world and the characters, but in doing this I felt like the connection between the main characters was lost. I couldn't get invested in them as the relationship development seemed secondary to wowing me with all the fancy tech talk. I feel like the climax of the book and the reveal of the so-called villain ...more

ARC via Netgalley/Edelweiss. Obligatory "Macmillan sucks and thinks that embargoing libraries from buying their ebooks will make people give them more money, please wait to borrow this book from your local library if you can and prove them wrong" note. This book is a delight! I haven't read any of Kit Rocha's other books before (although I've followed Bree on twitter for ages), but this is a good entry point and I'm definitely interested in checking out their other stuff sometime soon. It's very ...more

Kit Rocha delivers an addictive, apocalyptic thriller with lots of action, intrigue, and sexual tension. Knox leads a group of rogue super-soldiers and Nina is a "librarian" with ninja skills and lots of secrets. A mission to retrieve a lost archive goes haywire when Nina finds out about Knox's hidden agenda. Bullets fly, bodies pile up, and our characters have to choose between old friends and new ones, between doing what's easy and doing what's right, even if it means paying the ultimate ...more

This book is about kick-ass librarians, so needless to say it won me over with the premise. Set in a post-apocalyptic United States, an information broker named Nina and a soldier named Knox form an uneasy alliance to recover a kidnapped hacker and unearth a long-missing server from the Library of Congress. (Whew!) I don't usually read romances OR science-fiction-y action novels but this one captivated me: it's clever and laden with sexual tension and I wanted to be one of the heroes in it. All ...more

    3.5? I guess.

    Received this as an ARC.

I wanted to love this book. I ended up liking it more than I expected, but I felt so much of the first third was a slog for some reason. (I kept looking at the percentage on my kindle, wondering why I was still at 30%....)

I'm not sure what wasn't working for me. The plot felt a little all over the place. There's a strong romance subplot, but it lacked (for me) enough emotional investment for me to believe in the romance. When one main character realized they

I really enjoyed this book, but I feel like I'm absolutely the wrong person to review it - it's post-apocalyptic cyberpunk road trip romance, which is two genres I don't know well and one that I tend to avoid, so while I think it's done well, there were bits of the setting that I skimmed that I suspect would be precisely the thing that made this book awesome for another reader.
Things I liked - Nina and her crew and the way they worked together. The portrait of how to practice idealism and

Please add this to your must read list if you like urban fantasy and post-apocalyptic stories with amazing characters and great writing. Overall, this book had me when the description included the words "mercenary librarians." SIGN ME UP! And it did not disappoint.

The book centers around a world in the not to distant future that was fairly frightening in its possible reality. Both Knox and Nina are products of their environment (literally). The world they inhabit is post-apocalyptic. The

    Absolutely amazing!!!!

I have been a fan of Kit Rocha for years and was lucky enough to have been given a chance to read and review the first book in their new series early! It was so good!!! Well written with fantastic character-building. This book compares well with the Beyond series, which I was a bit worried about, except that the sexy times are not quite as intense (at least so far). There were even a few somewhat obscure references to things from that series. There is plenty of intrigue,

A solar flare has basically crushed the US and now must people live under the oversight of various corporations. Nina lives with two other women dealing in data and doing things to make their neighborhood nicer and safer and a little less under the thumb of TechCorp and their hired guns. Knox has to convince Nina to come with him so he can trade her for a tech that can keep his implants running since he and his men went AWOL for TechCorp. Nina thinks they are going to a hidden archive of the ...more

DwtD by Kit Rocha is book one in their new Mercenary Librarians Series and introduces the reader to a new dystopian world. Just like their O'Kane universe, DwtD tells the story of the post catastrophe era where law and order have another meaning than before.
The storyline is set in former Atlanta and tells Nina and Knox's story.
It's a fast paced read, action packed, raw and gritty - an unputdownable, hanging on the edge of my seat read that kept me in suspense from chapter one til the end.

I really liked this book. I usually am not into apocalyptical books. It falls into science fiction and that leaves no room for magic. This book was fun and I liked the characters. The title of the series is the Mercenary Librarians which I had to admit was what caught my eye. The author wrote a setting that was relatable and characters that battle the choices between good and bad and the consequences of those choices. The banter between those characters is funny. I've never read this author ...more

Oh my gosh! This book was so dang good! I was so hooked from the word go. I was not expecting to like this nearly as much as I do, I never heard of it or the author, it was just an ARC that randomly showed up in the mail one day. But I'm so happy it did! I LOVE the characters. Love the storyline. The ending made my jaw hit the floor, the 2nd book had better come out very, very soon!

This is a book that you HAVE to have on your TBR pile. Nina, Knox and their crews are amazing. They're nothing like Lex and Dallas and their crew back in the sectors and Eden, and yet they are.

Once upon a time, two best friends decided to write paranormal romance. And while that was awesome, they also sometimes wanted to write insanely dirty stuff that wasn’t paranormal at all. This is that stuff.

Kit Rocha is the dystopian-erotic-romance writing alter-ego of writing duo Moira Rogers.
