This book is about generative scribing, which is a visual practice and an art form, functioning in the moment, across boundaries, as a device for social seeing.[1] The primary value of generative scribing is in-the-moment collective sourcing and reflection. Through scribing, a group can see a course to take and find their direction. The scribe aids the group to induce a greater vision and turn it into action.[2]

Generative scribing activates and makes visible the unseen—yet felt—inner life of the

Bit more quirky and evocative than your average "how-to" book! Which is a good thing.

Generative scribing is a social exercise in presence and listening. Taking the shape of the conversation you're in — to bring it from unknown to known.

I love this book. It's a gem filled with beauty and wisdom on every page. Through story, metaphor and images Kevly Bird brings her decades of experience in working with leading thinkers, teachers, innovators and groups engaged in organizational, community and global change. Kelvy brings a fresh aliveness as she skillfully unpacks powerful concepts and tools for working with groups while giving the reader a deep understanding of the inner journey and attention required to master this territory. I love this book. First, generative scribing is a new field. It helps those of us who learn visually. Second, I love the way Kelvy wrote this book. It is following her experience as some who scribes. This book is for everybody who scribes, but also for those, who explore the art of listening. The book is a piece of art in itself. It is fun!
