I’m Jennifer Smith – a designer, educator, and author. I’ve done extensive work for corporations such as Adobe Systems and Microsoft, and last year traveled more than 100,000 miles visiting clients in Europe, Asia, Africa, and all around the United States. I deliver training and consulting for Fortune 100 companies, universities, and many independent software vendors.
I work extensively on designing and creating interactive applications and sites using Expression Blend and other Expression Studio applications. You can find many of my training guides and videos on Microsoft.com. I’m also the co-founder of the American Graphics Institute.
A greqt introduction to this monster of a group of software for the creative individual. I will be revisiting this again and again and I learn to operate in this creative cloud.
Reading this in 2023, it was not too bad on relevance/changes. This is a good starting point to understand the capabilities of the major 4 programs with exercises getting familiar with the tools.
I would recommend flipping through this and following along to what’s relevant to you, video tutorials would be much better on some of the more complicated ones. but after reading through this hefty boy in a week I can say I know which programs do what, and probably the best one to use to get my projects done. This book help me learn just enough to know when the time comes, exactly what to Google to watch a video tutorial to get a specific task done better and faster.
Overall a great introduction if you can stick with it and follow along. The last book adobe XD was not relevant to me so I can’t speak for that one but Photoshop illustrator and InDesign, I feel like I have a decent base knowledge now.
