For fans of sweet and sexy romance with a touch of humor!
If you haven't read anything by Susan Coventry yet, you don't know what you are missing. As soon as I started reading Custom Built for Me I was hooked. Her stories flow so easily and her characters are real. You feel their angst. You cry for them. Sometimes you just want to shake them to get them to see what is in front of them.
Jessica McLean is trying to recover from walking in on her boyfriend having sex with another woman. She is thinking that maybe she is the reason he went looking elsewhere. She decided she was boring and had to come up with a plan to liven her life up. While at a bar one night, drowning her sorrows she met up with her best friend Hannah's brother Shane.
Shane DeMarco is very easy on the eyes but Hannah has told her he is a player and that he doesn't do relationships. They talk at the bar and he wants to make sure she is okay and follows her home to be sure. Once at her place they start talking and really getting to know each other and she spills about her now ex. At some point in the next few days Shane asks her what she really wants. She thinks about it and tells him she wants one night with him. And that is when things get really good.
Two people looking for a one night stand. He doesn't do relationships plus this is his sister's best friend. She really doesn't know what she wants but a night with Shane will be a good start. Two people trying hard not to feel. You really have to read this book to see if Shane and Jess get their happy ever after. This is a great romance I hope you will love as much as I did. I am looking forward to this author's next book.
What started out as a fling, quickly spiralled out of control. Take a chance and leap for love. Shane was a player and Jess fell hard for him fast. Are all men dense. I wanted to knock Shane up the head. I'm glad he realised he couldnt live without her. Love conquers all
I fell in love with Shane and Jess from the very beginning! This book wasn't at all what I was expecting and I loved it! I couldn't put it down, even for sleep!
Absolutely loved the book. Good storyline, the characters were perfect and it wasn't a "fake" story. I could see this in my reader's eye this being a true story.
I gave this story five stars because it grabbed my attention from the first sentence. I liked this story about a woman finding herself and trusting a good man. I will read more from this author.
Jess needed to change her life, but wasn't sure Shane her best friend's brother was the man she needed to down the images of seeing her, now, former boyfriend, in bed with another woman. Shane, however, seemed fixed on her becoming his. An interesting read.
As another reviewer said, there are just so many aspects of the storyline, (from conversations, emotional reactions, insecurities, OCD tendencies, to awkward situations, etc) that are so relatable to us as regular people readers. I found this true with the other two stories that I have read by this author as well. No grammar errors, storyline moved smoothly, a great pace and no dull moments.
This book was a bit more spicy than the two books that I read from the Perfect series, and I loved it. It was not done as a shock-value, dirty talking, porn-like sex scenes. Yet it was far from being sweet & clean with doors closed. Done perfectly, in my opinion.
I loved how they went from a casual one night stand, to both being frustrated that once was not enough, and we got to see them slowly fall in love despite promising not to. I loved how they both got a wee bit jealous at times... I'm trying to think of anything that I would change with the story and I can't think of anything actually.
Y’all. Y’all I tried. It’s cute enough, and I might have liked it. But the amount of telling, rather than showing, the fact that we spend 80% of the book in the main characters head/intentions rather than in dialogue or scene building, and the sheer amount of explanation points just kept pulling me out of the story. The first two, I can mostly ignore. But the second one? It was too much! She thought something normal. And then she had a crazy thought! One that wasn’t even that crazy! Or promiscuous! It became too much for me.
