This book can change your life. And the life of your spouse, your children, your friends and your employees. Every success story begins with a positive attitude. This book will show you how you can maintain a winning state of mind ù and how you can instill a sense of confidence in those around you. And that is sure to improve your life; physically, emotionally and spiritually. For decades, Rabbi Zelig Pliskin has been motivating people to believe in themselves and to realize their potential. As a counselor, he has transformed the lives of hundreds; through his books and lectures, he has motivated and inspired many thousands. Rabbi Pliskin explains the emotional dynamics of success. He shares insights and stories. Most importantly, he gives us practical tips on how to believe in ourselves ù and how we can get others to believe in themselves. From recognizing our abilities and appreciating our talents to coping with setbacks and and dealing with failures, this book has it all. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." This book is the first step that can lead you and those around you to new heights of fulfillment
This life-changing book describes how we can believe in ourselves and get others to believe in themselves, and how we can achieve our goals, through a step-by-step method. It is one of the best self-help books I have read, and very encouraging and inspiring. It draws on ancient Jewish wisdom but it is for anyone looking to improve their self-image and through this their life. Among other things, this book explains how self-image creates quality of life and is a work in progress. Rabbi Pliskin explains the Torah concept that the world was created for every one of us. The author reminds us: "If you have a low self-image it is because of the way you think about yourself. Think better thoughts about your self-image." We must all ask ourselves what we can say, think and do to improve our self-image. The author highlights how the Torah (Vayikra:25:17) prohibits us from insulting people and causing them pain with words. This says the Talmud is worse than financially cheating someone. "Embarrassing a person is public is considered an even worse crime (Baba Metzia 59a): The Talmud equates public humiliation to murder? Why? When a person feels the intense distress of being belittled when others are present, his self-image might be temporarily destroyed, He may feel worthless. Outside of physical pain this is the most excruciating distress that a person can feel." The book also explains how we can deal with rejection and not let it damage our self-image even if we have suffered repeated rejection for many years. The author explains how we should not let someone else's limited perspective lessen your sense of personal value, so we should not let rejection by others lessen our sense of self-worth. Nothing can change the fact that your immense value as a person is a divine gift. He explains what we can tell ourselves to actually turn negative experiences into positive thoughts. He also gives us positive affirmations to imprint on our mind and why these do actually work. When focusing on self-development Rabbi Pliskin likes to focus on four factors. Goals, Traits, Emotional Traits and Self-Image. He explains how we can set goals for ourselves and also how to bounce back from negative and potentially destructive experiences. Rabbi Pliskin draws on the wisdom of Aharon the High Priest of Israel, the Rambam and Rabbi Chaim Luzatto, as well as how we can draw inspiration from the successes of such people as Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison. He explores the benefits of Neuro-Linguistic programming and explains how some people are continually angry and blaming and how we can deal with such people. We should all tell ourselves that "I choose a high self-image because I am a human being and I exist." Also because we are all Children of the Almighty and his beloved creations in his own image. Highly recommended. A tool that can help you repair you self-image and your life.

Why are some people super successful while others are even afraid to try? There could be a lot of reasons for this. Modern psychology has determined that self image or how we see ourselves has a direct impact in every area of life. People with a positive self image tend to be more successful. After all if you have a positive self image you. Tend to believe in yourself more and those that believe in themselves are not afraid to go for it when pursuing their goals. They are not afraid to take a risk. What if you don’t have a positive self image. The answer of course is to build one.
Rabbi Pliskin who I had the honor of meeting in Jerusalem many years ago on the Discovery Program through Aish Hatorah has crafted a brilliant book to help you build your self image. Techniques and saying are culled from the deep flowing sources in Judaism, along with modern psychology and neurolingusitic programming.
What can you do to build your self image? Well for one you can do acts of kindness. This activity will be stored in your brain and you will think of yourself as a kind person. This raises your self image. One can also master themselves by overcoming negative behaviors and learning to work with their emotions. Over come these obstacle and you already have the building block of a positive self image. An anchor is an concept from neurolingusitc programming. An anchor is an activity that provokes a certain emotion that can be positive or negative. Use the positive anchor to lift your spirits so you can excel. Rabbi Pliskin’s method employs affirmations and a lot of rethinking of how we view things. Difficult or adverse challenges help us grow and bring out the best of us. Remember once you overcome these obstacles you have over come another challenge and this is stored in your brain and it builds your self image. Even if you only reach your personal best once just remember that you did do it and that you can do it. This is added to your brain and it builds your self image.
This book could come real handy if you follow the advice within the pages. You definitely can boost your self image and when you feel better about yourself then you accomplish more. sometimes though i think you need to achieve something in order for your self image to properly grow.
