Such an interesting account, beginning with Helge Ingstad's childhood and giving an account of his many expeditions to Arctic peoples and areas culminating with the discoveries by himself and his archaeologist wife of the Viking settlement at Aix-aux-Meadows in Newfoundland. Once again, and enthusiastic amateur (Helge) with strong convictions of the truths in old texts (the Sagas) locates and finds tangible evidence of real events and people.
