Discover the wonder of a life with God you can’t contain. The pages of scripture are full of ordinary people who walked with God as he poured himself out through them to a world in need. What if God never changed? What if he is still speaking to us and longing to work miraculously through us? What if it isn’t a matter of more training or effort but simply receiving and releasing everything he already purchased? “Life in the Overflow” invites you to know God intimately as your Daddy in a way that spills out of you naturally. Filled with disarming honesty and fervent expectation, this book mirrors a reflection of who you are, who your God is and what he actually longs to do through “ordinary, messy kids” today!
Such a clearly written and enjoyable read. Pastor Chuck Ammons is so real-so accessible through this book, which is what makes it such a great read. He is never preachy nor holier-than-thou, but so down to earth, and his love for others and God comes through loud and clear here.
The questions at the end of the chapter were just enough; too much 'work' after reading chapters makes me want to run but this was just enough. Plus the questions lead you closer to God. I had a great experience with that while reading this book.
Mr. Ammons will make you feel he is right there with you, leading you along the path to a closer relationship with God, and never making you feel bad for not being perfect since we're all on this walk together.
Overall I just loved the realness of this book, and the freedom in Christ we could all be walking in is something he has walked for years now and so is a great mentor here. He is also a great writer; my book is all marked up with highlighter. I especially love this line: "You are a beacon of hope that shines like a solitary star in the middle of a pitch-black sky".
“Life in the Overflow” tells Chuck’s journey of learning to walk out his Christian life with practicality and power. From his transformational encounter with God in an obscure hotel room to story after story of watching God meet people right where they are at, Chuck pulls you into living life the way that God intended — connected to him and sharing that joy with others.
However, this book goes beyond just Chuck’s personal experiences. He engages the reader, giving relatable counsel. At the end of each chapter, Chuck asks thought-provoking questions that help the reader apply the material in their daily lives. Even so, he is never “preachy” but simply shares from his heart as a fellow kid on a joyful journey of exploration.
I heartily recommend “Life in the Overflow” for anyone who wants to live a life that springs from the heart of Jesus. 5/5 stars
