"May this book be the beginning of your path to success, dear reader! Read on!" I am not an English teacher, and I am not offering any kind of paid services. I just want you to know my story so you can use it to keep you motivated in learning another language. I hope you will find some helpful information in this book that can guide you. I know that not everything in this book will fit you, but what is not a fit for you might be a good fit for someone else. Once I read a book about an American guy trying to learn Spanish. His story began with his failures in learning this new language and ended with his success in achieving his desired goal. At that time, I was still at the crawling stage of my process of learning another language, and this book was so inspiring for me that I promised myself that one day I would tell my own story. If you have ever tried to learn another language, or if you are thinking about doing so, this book can serve as a reference guide or as a support that will show you that you are not alone in this long journey. Learning another language is something amazing, but at the same time, it can be very challenging and frustrating. That’s why most people that start the process give up before reaching their desired aim. Maybe you are studying a second language already, but you are frustrated because you are not becoming fluent in your expected timeframe, or perhaps you know all the grammar rules of the language and have a huge vocabulary but are not able to keep up a conversation with a native speaker. Fret not, my friend. You are not alone.
I must say that I was very inspired after reading Tiago Diniz's story of how he learned English. At first I thought that "Learning Another Language: My personal failures and victories in the process of learning another language" would be based on the language itself, but instead it is much richer. There are surely thousands of language books, but very few that provide the insight of someone that as already gone through the experience of learning the language, and sharing that insight to help others in their journey. Much like the author, I too learned my second language in a similar fashion, so I found his way of conveying his experiences very helpful and I am sure that it will help many others reach their goal of learning a language. As the author states, to learn a language you must surround yourself with it, not only learn its rules and structures, but live and breathe it as much as possible. These together with many other tips and very simple practices are explained throughout the book in order to learn a language much faster, and even much more effortlessly. This is a great companion book to anyone learning a language to place alongside your grammar and language exercise book.
A personal account about the process of learning a new language, offering simple tips and recommendations. Simple writing and genuine experiences, useful for anyone about to start the immersion into a new linguistic universe. Disclaimer: I read the free version of the book, available via Freebooksy.
