All I wanted was an internship. I never thought I’d end up dating a billionaire.

This book was an okay read. Both characters Penelope and Blake did not live up to the type of personality that was described for them.

There is Penelope who is supposed to be this shy introvert. This is what she was supposed to be but failed at actually being. First off a shy introvert wouldn't find herself being a "sugar baby" to a billionaire play boy. The fact that she agreed so quickly to Blake's conditions of their relationship is utterly ridiculous.

Then we have Blake who is suppose to ruthl

2.5 "not for me" Stars

So this was a free copy and I thought I'd try it out. I haven't read anything from Young before and it was short so I gave it a try. Well I am sorry to say that this one is just not for me. I found myself skimming so much of it even the "sex" scenes because it was way too much and not in a good way.

The characters had conflicting qualities/actions, Penny was supposed to be this frumpy little good girl who doesn't see a point in having one night stands. She feels there shoul

I don't know about this book, to be honest. The cover is very misleading because when you see it, you expect to be mindfucked, some kinkery shit but in reality this book is as vanilla as can be.

There's huge inconsistencies in both characters in terms of their characterization. For the hero, we were told the Hero was a huge control freak, he controls every aspect of his life and even fired people because they don't submit to him. And then we were introduced to this fella and it was so anti climat

This was the first book I read from this author and I enjoyed it . Yes the title and the way the book goes is a little different but I did enjoy the characters of the book . With Penny wanting to internship to help pay her bills thru the last year of college , but when Blake laid eyes on her she didn't know who he was . But later found out and things changed really quick for her . Look forward to reading the next book

Ok so this had mixed reviews but I always make my own mind up when it comes to a book. This is about Penny, she’s trying to get an internship as a coder while graduating college. At her interview she meets the CEO Blake Hunter, he’s gorgeous but a man who demands control, unfortunately he can’t seem to help himself when he sees penny, this turns out to be a mistake he comes to regret.
This book was ok as a read, I found the characters a bit wooden, Penny is a straight girl, not bowing down to so

Eh... not totally bad but not the best. I couldn't figure out WTF was going on with the heroine.... Like just because you write in the book she was a good girl yada yada yada, doesn't make her one. How are you going to say she's sooooo innocent, blushes at that thought of online dating, but is A-OK with screwing a guy for money? Dude the inconsistency had me spinning, The guy (NOT A HERO) was an ass, not a sexy love to hate ass, just an ass. The girl got on my every loving nerves (sweetie he's p ...more

Good sex scenes.. underdeveloped plot

I liked the idea of the story and I enjoyed the characters, but I feel the plot was left to be desired. There were many instances that could've driven the plot forward and made the story more interesting, but they were all glossed over. The sex scenes were steamy and we'll written but only in the first half of the book. The second half was filled with meaningless details of mundane activities. I'm still interested in reading the next book, however if it's sim

Eh, ok

The story is pretty familiar, awkward girl gets noticed by a billionaire. They have an affair and pays her rent and tuition. It ends in a cliffhanger.
I think this could’ve been better if there was more story and not so much detail. The author spent too much time, in my opinion, describing what they were doing and not enough on the angst and feelings the characters were experiencing.

Good read, keeps things interesting. Def recommend. Its a different book and i would not have guest the outcome. I literally read this book in one 2 and a half hours or so, because i could not put it down

DNF @ 15%

“What is this?” I asked, when I got to the top and looked at the dimly lit room.
“My sex room,” he said.

Seriously ???? Who says that?

Felt a little too juvenile in the writing for me. Great premise, no follow through.

Good idea but didn't lose myself in this story. The characters didn't draw me in and I ended up not finishing this story.

I can't find the 3rd book. Sorry, I read this part. How was it resolved? Such a joke. Probably won't read it if find.

Too redundent

It appeared to be just like something I've already read by another author. Not worth reading again. Sorry just not that interesting.

I found this book to be just ok. I enjoyed the writing style, but I never really connected to the characters or storyline enough to make it a great read for me. Some thing was lacking, and I can't explain what it was. I'm off to another story.

I have to be honest and say that this review might not be very long for a couple of reasons. First this book was a very quick read (one that can be read in a couple of hours) and two I wasn't overly impressed with it. I did like it but I guess I was underwhelmed. I think from the blurb of the book I was expecting more from this story and characters. Truthfully it reminded me of the movie Pretty Woman, excep

Taken By You is the first book I have read by this author, I was gifted a copy of the book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

The blurb for this book is misleading, this isn’t a dom/sub kinky book, there are a few kinky aspects but this is simply a romance with some vibrators.

Blake has this asshole persona but that lasts for about ten minutes and then he’s the romantic guy who realises that he doesn’t have to be a controlling al

Taken by You is a story of two souls that are in different places in society, yet share one common factor: to be truly seen. Penelope Wells is a college student who is on journey to get an internship, but finds herself stuck in an offer of lust and temptation by Blake Hunter, the CEO of the company she wishes to intern at. An offer of physical attraction becomes more than what both have bargained for.

Taken by You was a quick read with a punch

I received a free advanced copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

After reading the description, I was prepared for a fifty shades type story and was pleasantly surprised. Penny is much sassier and Blake is less tortured and distant which made the story so much more enjoyable. I'm not sure how many books Young plans to write about this couple, but I'm invested enough to read one or two more to get to their HEA.

I was somewhat confused by the timeline in the book. The writing made

I appreciate the author for sending me the ARC. Thank you!
At first, I was a little worried about this novel. It seemed like a combination of all the billionaire businessmen and the sweet innocent young college girl. The novel develops very fast almost like Young is in a marathon to get to the sex scenes, but about half way through the book it calms down and becomes more about the plot development that I love of Young. Penny is definitely good girl gone

I enjoyed this story very much. I love reading the billionaire romance genres. Blake and Penny's story seems to be going in a different direction then most I have read so far. I don't want to give a lot of the story away in the review but I will say that Blake is closed off to love for reasons that he hints about but in Book 1 we don't find out about. He meets Penny when she shows up to apply for a internship at his company and she seems like the perfect woman to fill his needs. As you continue ...more

This is well written serial type story. It is short and if you want to find out what happens to the characters next book. That said: Blake is the founder of RandomMeetX the number one hookup sight, he has made billions on his company. With that he has issues. Ex that did a number on him, board members trying to take over and run his company and his personality of control, control and control.
Penelope is a college student looking to intern at RandomMeetX. As she is waiting for her interview Blake

Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

This was like reading fifty shades of grey with different characters. I couldn't even read the whole thing. Writing was good but I don't think the plot backed it up.

Penny's character at times wasn't very realistic. Initially she is described as this shy girl who couldn't even talk to people but at times the things she did directly contradicted this.

I really don't have much to say about this, overall I was quite disappointed because the authors writing was quite

I personally enjoyed reading Taken By You. Blake while trying to protect his company when he didn't offer Penelope an internship after their sexual encounter offers her financial incentives as well as material gifts. His initial idea was just to have great sex and then move on to his next conquest. But Penny learns of his initial desire and thinks Blake has deceived her the entire time. Brokenhearted she leaves him. Blake is crushed. I was so taken by their story and the emotional upheaval both ...more
